RE: OS 4stroke engine: Will it run with castor?

I run everyone of my four cycle engines (and that's a lot of them) on straight 20% castor oil fuel with 10% nitro. Never have a problem and seldom if ever get rusty bearings.

RE: Royal 45 ABC (OS clone)

Royal engines were made by Thunder Tiger in Taiwan. They were identical to the original Hobby Shack Magnums. Made on the same assembly line until Paul Bender and Thunder Tiger had a falling out and...

RE: What fuel do you guys use in your Saito twins?

Here is another Saito FA90T vane pump on another engine. I didn't modify the nipple on this one and the alignment marks are different. The arrow is pointing to them. However, the nipple is at the...

RE: What fuel do you guys use in your Saito twins?

Here is a picture of one of my 90's. As you can see the nipple is a bit to the right of vertical. I added a right angle pipe to the nipple so I could attach a tube to it. If you look closely at the...

RE: What fuel do you guys use in your Saito twins?

You really don't have to attach anything to the nipples. The back one is an intake for airand the front one is where the crankcase oil comes out. You can put a length of tubing on it to get the oil...

RE: OS-FS 60

The original with the machined rockers was not the most powerful engine but ran very well. I had one on TF SE-5a. Underpowered. The FS80 was the perfect engine for that plane but it was made in small...

RE: OS 40VF Info

OS rated the 40VF ABC at 1.25 HP @16,000 RPM. The 40FSR ABC was rated at 1.2HP@16,000RPM and the 40FSR was rated at 1.15HP@ 16,000RPM. This is off the OS engine spec sheet.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

There were at least three Saito 45's. The very first had a bolt on head, the second, (the MkII) had a one piece cylinder as did the 45S. The first two were identical except for the cylinder and the...

RE: OS .45FS problems

OS never made a 45FS. OS made a 45FSR and a 46SF but no 45FS. It sounds like there is dirt in the carb.

RE: os 61 fx

The oil isn't supposed to burn. If it did it wouldn't be doing it's job. Oil on the airplane is one of the drawbacks of using a glow engine. Castor tends to make a bigger mess but it is better at...

RE: OS40FSR application question

It flew just as advertised. An intermediate airplane and good pattern type trainer. I had two and my dad had three. Dad flew all of his with an OS40FSR ringed and I flew mine with anOS40 and 45FSR...

RE: Cox TeeDee .051

Then you had a strong 051 or a weak 049. Cox designed both those engines with the same power so they could be used on the same airplane in two different events. I know as I flew those events back in...

RE: Cox TeeDee .051

Inside the cylinder are one or two passages that allow the fuel mixture to go from the crankcase up into the cylinder. They are opposite the exhaust ports. The babe Bee 049 and other "low power" reed...

RE: Cox TeeDee .051

The TD 049 and 051 were designed to have exactly the same power output so you could fly the same F/F airplane in two classes (1/2A and A) without re trimming the airplane. There are several places...

RE: os carb 4d needed

The FP's all used airbleed carbs and the 40FP used a 3A carb which is considerably smaller than the 4D.
