RE: Correct alignment techniques

Thanks for the reminder. I stuck to the base trims and flew it yesterday. It flew great! straight and level with just 3 clicks up elevator and 2 clicks right aileron. I was amazed. I cut the flight...

RE: Correct alignment techniques

I hate this part too. In fact, I just finished an "Ouya" ARF from Texas RC and I think I messed up the stab to wing alignment. The right half of the stab is slightly forward, which I didn't notice...

RE: Sam Turner

I too am curious as he built a fantastic plane for me as well. Early 90's.
Would appreciate some info...

RE: Practice Ship

I still have my MK Super Chipmunk with a YS120. Properly set up, it is fantastic airplane. Light, agile, and tracks beautifully. Grass fields will murder the retracts so I suggest changing over to...

RE: How do you clip a J3Cub ARF wing?

That makes sense. Thanks a bunch, Mike. I'll post a pic when I'm done but don't hold your breath.

I haven't investigated how long the fuselage is. I just assumed since it said Goldberg...

It stops about an inch off the start of the curve. I'd have to cut the vertical line down to the hinge line and make a right...

RE: How do you clip a J3Cub ARF wing?

No,no,no...it IS the ARF version, not the KIT. Sorry for the confusion. What I meant was that the ailerons aren't hinged onto the wing yet, so it would be easy enough to cut to size.

My worry...

RE: How do you clip a J3Cub ARF wing?

Thanks Mike. The graphic helps a lot. The wing isn't together yet so I CAN cut the aileron, and it calls for separate aileron servos anyway. What I read from Bax's post is that the ailerons...

RE: How do you clip a J3Cub ARF wing?

Thanks Bax. Do you mean the ailerons should stay stock length? I don't remember from building the kit. If I cut the ailerons, maybe not enough authority?

How do you clip a J3Cub ARF wing?

Hi all,

Carl Goldberg Models' original J3 Cub kit was a great stand-off scale/sport plane; and even better when built with clipped wings.
As it is no longer available, I chanced upon a...

RE: Club Enya

Thanks. Maybe I'll go back to the Saito80 plan. I can just recover the Stinson 108 and put it back in there.Big project...
I don't have the J3 yet and I'm anxious as it's an ARF but I'd like to...

RE: Club Enya

I just pulled an old Enya 120 4c from an old Silk & Dope Stinson 108 that I flew then stored 12 years ago. One of the valves was stuck and when I tried to knock it loose, I broke the valve adjuster...

RE: Ever hear of an 1.20 Size MK Zlin Kit???

I realize this thread is over a year old but in case the original poster still gets reply notifications, I have a MK Super Chipmunk 120 F3A that was built by Yuri Higuchi (renowned rc designer and...

RE: Going to YS, I'm done with Saito

Buy the YS. they're fantastic. That Saito os a horrible motor. You'll never get it to run right. It's garbage!
I'm sending you a PM with my address so you can just send it to me. I'll even pay...

RE: Behind the controls with Bob Hoover

I, too, have been lucky enough to have witnessed the unmatched flying prowess of this fine gentleman. His engine out maneuvers routine is truly amazing. It is like watching a r/c pattern schedule...

RE: Wanted Conquest 7

Thanks, Roy. Although I had a YS AR (which I put in a Curare) at the time, I guess I lucked out on the choice of a Rossi LS as the power curve is in the upper teens. I guess the high RPM kinda drowns...

RE: Passenger lands plane

As a PP, SEL myself, I'd be dang nervous but he sure sounded like he knew the right questions to ask. I've seen the panel of a King Air 200 and it's pretty intimidating. I guess he knew the ones to...
