which radio would you recommend to a beginner heli pilot?

Governor Question

I was wondering what exactly is the governor used for? I know it hold the engine rpm at certain range...
Is it needed for beginners? or is it necessary onlt for doing 3d?
can you do 3d without it?...

if I go with RealFlight G2 (standard) does it show you things like steps, tutorials, how to use the stick, etc...
does it show basic stuff well,
because I'm very new to rc heli/planes
