RE: Noobie Hawk Sky Question

I wouldn't do that, cause the shaft would expand. Someone suggested using hot water to expand the hole in the prop (being careful not to warp or bend the blades), and putting some liquid dish soap on...

RE: GuanLi PBY Catalina

Hello fellas. I've been so smitten by the heli bug that I sold all my airplanes, including my Cat (before I even flew it). If you think building the Catalina is bad with its crappy instructions, try...

RE: Hey Opjose

Well, I got the kit and I'm really impressed with the quality. Like the 450 version you suggested, it's got lots of metal. I went with cheap-but-good on the cyclic servos, gyro and motor, and...

RE: Hey Opjose

Thanks for the input, Opjose. I hadn't really considered a kit (considering my skill level), but after viewing several build threads and videos, I decided to give it a go. I just ordered the kit you...

Hey Opjose

I realize this may be the wrong forum, but I seem to be afflicted with the helicopter bug. I've mastered a coaxial, http://www.nitroplanes.com/dyvo3704chco.html , which has been a very good learning...

RE: Question about the Art-Tech F4U Corsair

What I did with the wings was install a couple of pieces of "ultra-thin" sticky-back velcro where they join - got it at Wally World for a few bucks. The velcro provides more than enough holding power...

RE: Question about the Art-Tech F4U Corsair

Nope. I figured I would have crashed and burned something in my hanger by now, but all three are stil in one piece. I'm really starting to get into helicopters, and now I'm thinking my next purchase...

RE: what to do with excess wires from Hawk Sky/EZ Hawk engine

What I did was just cut out some of the foam under the motor pod, making it easier to shove the wires down into the fuselage.

RE: installing the engines on new brushless A-10

Well, I've finally got a little bit of simulator time under my belt, in both heli's and airplanes. Given the average cost of my three models, I'd say I've gone through about $1,200 so far, had I been...

RE: Nitro Planes Formost 550 39

I don't know what the problem is...the link is correct, but doesn't work for some reason. If you copy and paste it manually, it does work. The kit is the .60 Seawind, 70" wingspan.

RE: Nitro Planes Formost 550 39

I'm a noobie to rc, but lots of time in full-sized planes. I've seen many of your posts and videos, and I just wanted to say that I admire your skill, tenacity and obvious passion for the hobby....

RE: installing the engines on new brushless A-10

No "hats off" to me, sir...when I said a couple of hours, I literally meant 2-hours. I knew the pilot, who had something like 3,500 hours in choppers (Army) at the time - much of it in Viet Nam....

RE: installing the engines on new brushless A-10

Well, I want to thank you for your tip, as well. I've been hesitant on the simulator thing for some reason (laziness, I guess), but after reading your comment about crashing what would have been...

RE: installing the engines on new brushless A-10

I don't know anyone with that much invested in their planes...maybe $3K at most. However, I really hate to think what would happen if someone were to refer to their aircraft as "toys"....

RE: installing the engines on new brushless A-10

Someone gave me a piece of advice that might come in handy - when the plane's coming at you, move the stick towards the wing you want to raise. I decided that the phrase "stickup" would help me to...

RE: installing the engines on new brushless A-10

One thing I've learned from rc people, sir, is that you should avoid referring to full-sized aircraft as "real". http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/omg_smile.gif...

RE: installing the engines on new brushless A-10

He's the guy in this thread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9579332/tm.htm ...4,000 hours in the big A-10, some rc simulator time, and whatever time with the Easy Star. Like me, he either can't or...

RE: Wild Hawk good choice?

Good luck, sir, and thanks for your service to the United States. It's odd how we're "apprehensive" about flying these foamies for the first time - I've yet to fly either of mine due to wind (at...

RE: out of stock airplane arfs.

I said "lots of neat stuff", not "almost everything". I ordered a co-axial heli, and came close to buying a P-40 with retracts....

RE: GuanLi PBY Catalina

I stumbled upon a method that works well...at least on this particular plane. Thread the back locking nut onto the shaft and move it all the way back to the front of the cowling. Push the other nut...

RE: out of stock airplane arfs.

I like doing business with Nitroplanes because they have the best prices, one of the best selections, good support, fast shipping, and if something is broken or defective they'll make it right. What...

RE: Question about the Art-Tech F4U Corsair

Well, I didn't order because my wife has decided that I should limit my number of planes to three due to "hangar" space. Therefore, I decided to wait for your P-51 with retracts; however, the "out of...
