RE: In flight glitch - please help diagnose

Hmmm. It happened again after work... I got about 8 minutes of good fly time in- real agressive stuff while coworkers watched.
PS- hadn't charged the LiPo yet as I knew it had charge.

Well,...

RE: motor cuts in and out during flight

fmtc-

I have experienced similar freaky problems. I'm banking that you are using a single-conversion receiver.

If so, then order a dual conversion RX immediately! Hitec offers a nice one...

RE: What electronics suite A Unicorn?

Most importantly, spring for a dual-conversion receiver. I have crashed so many times due to wide-band interference using the HiTec feather 4.

From experience, I concur with the metal-gear...

RE: Wing tip replacement for Unicorn

Im no expert on glassing, but I thinly laminated the Unicorn winglet stock on both sides with 6oz fiberglass using West Systems epoxy.
A single coat of color tape for looks.
Although I don't...

RE: Source for carbon fiber spars?

I shopped around some and found that AirDynamics http://www.airdyn.com/ has the best prices.
I orders a few pieces from them and have eleminated my flap!

I put another spanwise CF tube (0.24"...

RE: Brushless motors in Foam Wings?

As far as bang for the buck- get yerself a good brushless motor and ESC. I personally use the Astro 020 with CC 35 and 5.5x4 on 10 NiMH's.
It's more cost effiecient than getting LiPo's that will...

RE: 126 mph zipper! On radar.

Ummm, I hate to say this, but in the picture provided, the prop is installed backward!
The curvy parts should face aft.
You might get a few more MPH by reversing the prop!!!

RE: Dymond Super Turbo charger

With ~300 E-Flight charges under my belt, I agree with kennydee.

Slow charge at least once at a low setting; the slower the better.

Occassionally I'll take my Unicorn to work. I have two...

RE: thunder power bad lipo

Translation from Engrish:

I recieved a bad lipo batt from Thunder Power this weekend. It was essentially DOA; a lead tab popped off. I emailed the proper department at Thunder Power. They...

RE: Sorry, but another newb question.....

You guys are right on the money.

There is one more factor to address: discharge rate, or "C" rating.

Discharge rate is typically rated or advertised as a "C" value. Example a 10C cell, or...

RE: paint or monocoat?

Go with a simple (yet agressive!) paint job-

The time and money you save will give you an edge as an agressor while the pretty-boy in front of your prop will be afraid to get his tail dirty!

RE: CA GLUE CARE

For the record, H2O sets CA.

If you have a very small opening in your bottle and the humidity is low, then your bottle will prolly last a considerable time with no cap.
Consequently, a "crust"...

Variable-pitch props

Is there a variable-pitch prop available for R/C aircraft?
Anyone know of mods to heli rotorheads that might work?

RE: Fuel shelf life

I had nearly a full gallon of Morgan Fuel 15% that sat in my "hangar" (spare bedroom) for about 8 months still hooked up to the hand crank pump. Almost finished it off now in a OS 40LA. No probs.

RE: Covering a Flying Wing

Whatever you do, use a liberal coat or two of spray adhesive. I did a quicky re-cover one day using a light mist of S.A. and the next day it was coming loose.

Also, overlap the tape about 1/4...

RE: rocket boosted zagi

I too have a few G-powered flights under my belt.

First of all, airframes sporting G motors are no larger than 4" diameter. Do the math and that is your frontal area for the drag equation.

RE: OK wing fliers, I need some advice.

My history is:
zagi 400X
zagi with speed 480,
WingWarrior Raider,
Unicorn.

The Unicorn is equipped with 10 cells and a brushless motor. In all honesty, it can't handle the airpseed of a...

RE: Unicorn Wings 48" Brushless Photodocumentary

Flying at the RC field provides tons more interference than at the local park. I finally got a dual-conv RX; the HiTec Electron 6.

I've flown at all my usual haunts, including...

RE: Help with modified Rocket

If it is possible, adjust control throw according to airspeed.
This of course would require an airspeed sensor or integrate based on a accelerometer.
IE, small throw for liftoff, larger throw for...

RE: Troubles with zagi's 400 pusher motor :(

FatalFlyer-

I smoked a JetSet Speed480 motor one day in a Zagi 400X when I slapped a 7x5 prop on it. (stock batt and ESC). Are you loading the motor too much with a big prop??? Do you fly in...

RE: What is the best small motor for foamies

I'll attest that the AstroFlight 020, 10 cell, 20A with the supplied 5.5x4 prop is quite capable!

RE: Unicorn Wings 48" Brushless Photodocumentary

Well, time for an update.

I've been flying again recently. A power dive from 500 feet quickly produced the zagi-flap. It scared the amps outta me!
And what they say about the "zagi-flap" is...
