Nige,

I do believe that 2.3mm I.Dbearings dont exist. Or certainly not to the public.

2.5mm will work but need the shaft bushing out to suit. Your better off with a lubricated plasic 2.3mm...

Itook my whole jet drive out first.

But then i was planing a respray and other mods too which taking the drive out made easier.
