RE: Citation Kit is here!

The way Isee it, something is worth what someone is willing to pay. Iam happy to see that this super rare airplane is in the hands of someone who not only will build it, but is going to make it...

RE: Whatcha get?

Santa was good to my shop with a combo disk/belt sander and a drill press. And I gave my FW-190 the gift of landing gear from Sierra.

RE: Skybolt hangar and clubhouse

IFinally Have my SkyBolt Flying

I had this plane finished in February, and then proceeded to deal with major issues with the engine and mount. I shelved the plane for the summer, and then decided...

RE: I was shopping at my LHS

All you can do is try and give every prospect value for their dollar, and of course Iam being rhetorical there. I try to by from my LHS whenever I can because Ihave developed a relationship with...

RE: I was shopping at my LHS

I've seen several posts here lamentinghow the clerks time was being wasted. In response all I have to say is that he must have just been a "clerk" because any sort of real salesman could have turned...

Invert,

Were you ever able to solve the thrust issues on the Seidel, or did you end up installing the DLE?

RE: iron bay models kfir

To then OP,

If you want to build a Kfir, why not get a kit from Jet Hangar Hobbies? I do not own one nor have I flown one, but the feedback is positive. Plus, it was the model used in Iron...

HOLYRIGHTRUDDER!

Hey Rye, how many takeoffs have you been able to practice during this absolute fiasco?!?

Anyhow, just because I feel like adding my 2 cents. The main contributor, ONTAKEOFF, to...

RE: Don Lein/Holman 1/5 FW-190A8

That is a major drag about the gear, and I have been following your issues with them throughout your thread. I think I am going to see if Gene Barton still does his 190 gear. I saw some pictures of...

RE: Sist FW190A8 1:4

Kwik is correct about the A4 having three fixed cooling vents behind the cowling, and the A5 introduced the articulating vents along with the bigger BMW.

RE: Don Lein/Holman 1/5 FW-190A8

Itotally agree, and Iwill freely admit that for whatever reason Iam emotionally invested in the outcome of Invert's issue here!

I agree with Thomas that if the engine would turn about 1000 rpm...

RE: Don Lein/Holman 1/5 FW-190A8

Sweet video and sweet engine.

That Corsair has a wing loading of about 50 oz/sq ft if it is weighing in at about 30lbs. Thomas' FW190 should have a wing area of about 1040 sq inches (his may be...

RE: Don Lein/Holman 1/5 FW-190A8

Bob,

Thank you and it does, as my Holman cowl is also 9.75 across the back edge. If SAITO's manufacturer numbers are good then that FA300 should work pretty well.

RE: Don Lein/Holman 1/5 FW-190A8

Iswear this engine conundrum is taking up too much time when Ishould be selling airplanes! It seems like all of the really good power options (Saito 450, G62) are just a tad to tall...

Bob, what...

RE: Don Lein/Holman 1/5 FW-190A8

According to Octupus RC, the XYZ 53CC is 205mm from plug to plug. My cowl measures about 244 mm across the back so if you account for narrowing to the front it may just work.

RE: Don Lein/Holman 1/5 FW-190A8

As far as you know, is the Sis-t cowl the same size as our Holman cowls? If so, Evan Quiros was able to conceal the G62 by cocking it into the right cowl blister. He removed the blister and built it...
