I've been to Great Plane's site but that as near to useless as you can get (you would have thought there would be a clear section about how much/where to buy etc).

Where can I get one of these...

Disgusted with Seagull Models Edge 540

Welcome to the club piranhamo, same thing happened to me except I was in straight level flight too.

The elevators are also something I've had trouble with.

Options for freighting kits from the US to other countries (ie New Zealand)

Hi everyone,
I just priced a helicopter carrying case which is a fairly large item, but probably not quite as big as the 30% kit I want to get (Lanier Edge 540).

I got the vendor to quote a...

Are Futaba 9252 servos enough on a 33% plane?

I was thinking of the 30% Lanier Edge 540.

In light of what you guys are saying, I'll probably go with Futaba 9350's (10kg, 0.10 seconds).

How does that sound?

Introducing my new 33% Edge 540T - Maidened!!!

How on earth do you do a scheme like that? Do you have to cut out the coating in patterns and apply it?

I apologise for my ignorance here, I've just got no idea how that would be done...

Are Futaba 9252 servos enough on a 33% plane?

Hi guys,
I've got some Futaba 9252 digital servos (6.6kg and 0.14secs) lying around from a helicopter and I was wondering if they would be enough for the ailerons and elevators of a 30% plane?

Cost of building a 30% model...

Wow thanks Bobi,
That 105inch Edge is great value for money it would seem! It works out to be about NZ $1100 + freight. I assume it's not an ARF though.

Thanks for the feedback guys. No problem about the 'bearer of bad news', I'd rather enter into this project with eyes open and once again, I've learned not to go cheap in the heli scene.

Cost of building a 30% model...

Very fair point re the Carden kit. I've not done any research on this kit at this point, but will look into it now.

This is what I'm after - honest opinions.

Thanks very much.

Is there a Cyberheli of Fixed Wing???

In the helicopter world, there's a number of EXCELLENT online stores that we use to buy products at bargain prices and very quick, efficient service.

Are there any fixed wing eqivalents?

Does anyone know where I can get something like a 15 x 5 prop?

I currently use a 14x6 but would like to reduce the speed a little and get more thrust.

Thanks,

Seagull Models Edge 540

I have some questions.
My Seagull Edge 540 weighs in at 9.5lbs which after reading all this is just way too heavy. The wing itself weights 2lbs.

Seagull Models Edge 540

I've got a OS 91 SX-H in my 540 running a 14x6 APC prop. The most we can get out of it is about 11000-11500RPM which according to ThrustHP is about 15lb of thrust.

My plane weights in at 9.5lbs....
