RE: Funtana 90!

Hi John - how do you set up your planes?

If I fly it every weekend I can handle my F90 as it is, but my flying is far more limited than that now and I find mine too twitchy to be enjoyable. I...

RE: Funtana 90!

I still fly my f90 - Moki 135 out front and looking quite beat up. It must be about 7 years old now. Am going to indulge in some trimming and try make it fly a bit smoother - rearward CG makes it...

RE: HBX, Who else owns one??

Thanks, I stripped the chassis down on the weekend and found it wasnt the gear I thought it was. One of the side shaft gears lost a tooth and that damaged the second part( no idea how else to decribe...

RE: HBX, Who else owns one??

The 2.4 ghz is indeed cool and works well Buuuut, since the chassis rebuild we havea recurring problem - the main gear - the one that drives off the motor gear (spur gear?) strips. My son has just...

Trying to rebuild OMP 47" Edge kit

I have a 7 year old OMP Edge 540 47" that crashed about a year ago. Its rebuildable and one of my favourites so I finally got it onto the workbench last week. It will be an easy repair, once I I have...

RE: HBX, Who else owns one??

Just got my 6 year old son the latest 2.4 gig version of the Bonzer for Xmas. It runs well but I managed to crack the chassis around the front gearbox (don't ask [&:]). My repair did not last and I...

RE: Extra 260 27% Hangar 9er

Mine flies great with a Moki 210 glow - I have seen how DA 50 powered versions fly - the extra weight does not help the 3d at all and its an absolute rocket. Its far smaller than the EF and other...

RE: Spectrum 2.4 gig worries

Over here in SA the migration to 2.4 has been slow. At our club airshow this weekend, I saw maybe 3 2.4 Tx's being used. At one point we had a maximum of 8 planes in the air chasing toilet rolls, all...

RE: 645mg servos not centering well.

I tend to agree although my experience is limited to 3 servos - one on each aileron and one on the rudder of my 27% Extra. Centering is not perfect but nowhere near as bad as described and does not...

RE: Extra 260 27% Hangar 9er

I thought they saw how many Horizon were selling and decided to do a 35cc size plane too!

RE: Another knife edge and coupling query...

I guess I knew some of this already - lots more flying and tweaking needed. have already tried to correct a noticeable stab wing misalignment so we'll see this weekend. Am flying it in an airshow :)

Another knife edge and coupling query...

I posted this in reply on another thread. "Wish I knew the secret. My first 27% H9 E260 was, by the time I crashed it, the most perfect k/e flying machine I have ever seen/flown. It had zero coupling...

RE: Rudder and Fuse for straight KE

Wish I knew the secret. My first 27% H9 E260 was, by the time I crashed it, the most perfect k/e flying machine I have ever seen/flown. It had zero coupling in either direction and could also do...

RE: 34% Colombo Anderson Extra 300L Buld!!

Generally the quality of the wood and laser cut ply was very good, but the kit arrived with no landing gear (still waiting for that after several months) and the stab tube and outer are very poor -...

RE: 34% Colombo Anderson Extra 300L Buld!!

DISAPPOINTMENT! My 50cc CA Edge is not an Edge - it has a wing sweep back like an Extra thanks to wing cores or wing tube holes that were misaligned at manufacture. I am so P$ssed off I'd demand my...

RE: Extra 260 27% Hangar 9er

You could also try a Mentz 20x8 which is what I use on my 2.10. Pretty much unlimited vertical, just expensive if you nudge the runway on landing...

RE: JR770 PCM Rx Problem?

That is weird. I have the same set up on one of my planes, but nothing like that has ever happened. Its almost as if the Tx "booted up" in PPM mode instead of PCM. I've sometimes forgotten to change...

RE: os 160 starting issues

A friend at my club has two of these. They are totally relaible and easy to start. Change the plug to an OS F. We use these on all our bigger glow engines like Moki's and the OS 160's and pattern...

RE: Extra 260 27% Hangar 9er

Those are still quite useable in my opinion. Mine started looking like that after some landings in the rough and they only failed after a deadstick landing/crash that also broke the former in front...

RE: Extra 260 27% Hangar 9er

Thats about it! Mine was a little further back, i.e. towards the t/e of the ruddr by a few mm at the most. I think the most important part is getting the thing glued in without making the holes too...

RE: Extra 260 27% Hangar 9er

I added a c/f rod in the rudder. I took a 2mm rod and basically used it to make a hole for itself from the top of the rudder just back of the hinge line into the hinge post - just longer than the...

RE: Independent performance tests of 2.4GHz radios

Yep, we fly on 35mhz, same as the UK so a 9303 is a 9X II over here. Futaba would be a little silly not to make modules for JR, unless they think we'd all convert to Spektrum rather than switch...

RE: Independent performance tests of 2.4GHz radios

I've read most of Xjet and Kiwis threads over on that other forum and all I can say, as a relatively unbiased non 2.4 user on another continent, that as far as I am concerned and for what it's worth,...
