Hangar 9 has come out with that cool looking Show Time 4D plane and this. Two awsome looking planes. Too bad I am only 15 and dont got a lot of money, maybe I do, I got about $800 and was gonna build that ef yak 67 inch plane. that looked cool but now these.
I really should save up and build this plane. the construction looks really good and with a DA50 I bet this plane would be a beast.
I would love to see a video of how this plane flies and some more pics, especially of the underside, what kinda covering is on the bottom.
SO LETS GET SOME BUILD PICS GOING AND GIVE EACHOTHER SOME TUNING UP ADVICE!!!!!!!!!!! WOULD SOME HITEC DIGITAL HS-5645 SERVOS BE A GOOD MATCH?

And it only seemed like yesterday when BasinBum was asking when Horizon was going to come out with a 50cc size aerobatic ARF.
Thanks Basin. I guess we owe you.

Hot damn, a 50cc 260... I like!
I wish that I could justify getting one... I just dont fly the big areobats enough anymore to let myself spend that kind of cash, especially when I still have my lovely Wild Hare 28% edge. If I was in the market for that class of aircraft again though there would be no choice, it is beautiful. Plus, all the H9 arfs I have flown fly great, so I'm all for this little bird.

I downloaded the manual today. They're putting a Saito 180 in this. I'd like to put a large glow like an OS 160FX or Moki 2.10 in it just to do the pull-pull set up, but seems pointless. Anyone thinking of a large glow engine?

G-62 is way too heavy for this airplane. The G-62 is a great motor as far as reliablity but as far as 3D goes it has been outdated long ago. I would say DA-50, ZDZ 40-ZDZ50

How are the flying charataristics of a extra 260 vs say a edge 540 I have been looking for an edge but this seems like a good deal. I had my eye on a wildhare edge but might wait on this one.

I think with the cap 260 they named it the 260 because they didnt build it exactly to scale. I think it doesnt have any bad cap habbits and it is a real 3d plane. Edge's are cool loking planes but I know of two people personally and one on rcu who had bad experiences with wild hare.
You know that hanger 9 is an awsome company and that cap looks cooler than when you feel that nitro on your fingers.
I would love to see a vid or some more pics of the plane. should I build this plane and save up for it or build the ef yak 68''.

well then that just proves me rong then. lol. my friends problems were with missing parts that came with the kit like tail feather parts, and it took along time to get in contact with the company . I am sure that if u build hanger 9 planes right that they will fly right. some of the first funtana's where off build but they fixed that and would replace your plane if u crashed it.
My funtana 90 flies awsomely, or as good as it can with a saito 100. I think that a DA 50 for this cap would make it unlimited and the fuel costs wouldn't be an issue.
Lets get some build pics going when we can, and advice!!!

Banche Why are you saying it's a Cap? It's an Extra 260!
That's a great looking plane!!! I'm getting ready to begin the 50cc venture... It's either this, a Wildhare Edge, Extreme Flight Yak, or some type of Cap 232.... Decisions Decisions

The edge is a pure 3D machine. It is hard ot make it smooth out on long precise manuvers. This actually hutrs precision in 3D manuvers as well.
The extra thanks to its design is better than an edge in this regard. The nice thing about the extra 260 is that uit has less coupling thanks to its shoulder wing design. It also resembles a edge with a extra wing, something that really looks good in my opinion.

Saw this at Toledo and it's quite a nice looking airplane. Speaking with Mike McConville, he was saying a DA50 in this airplane makes for a great combination.

Thats neat looking, but I will stick to my WH 33% Extra 260. If you want a really nice extra 260 - check out:
www.daltonaviation.com
He bought the plane and all from Troy Built Models who made them first. Both awesome companies, and I have seen two built in person. One was an electric version running 4 Hacker 50's. The other had a DA 150. Very impressive.
I guess its cool though that H9 is finaly going to do something for the 28% size. 28% is cheap to me now that I went to 33%...lol.
I guess I will get one if I ever put my Christen Eagle in the ground.

Thanks PepsiMike but I think Mike Mc. was already thinking about it before I ever posted. If he was really listening to me he would have made the wing slightly larger than the 1100 sq.in.
Having owned the GP Patty and Wildhare Extra I firmly believe that when you get to the 1300sq.in. range 17-18 lbs. is "light" while 15.5-16lbs. at 1100 sq.in. is "heavy". The proof will be in the flying and I hope this one will be a success because we need more readily available choices for the new breed of 50cc motors out there.
For those of you wondering, the Patty while very nice isn't as good a flyer as the slightly larger WildHare (assuming a DA50 on both).

Was just on the Gas Engines forum.
It appears Horizon will be carrying a new line of Evolution gas engines (basically MVVS's with different markings).
26, 35, and 50cc versions will be offered.
