RE: Alpina 4001 info ?

If your friend doesn't have much sailplane "stick time," he should get a lot more of it before he tackles something like a nine channel (ten servo) Alpina. This is not a beginner or even...

RE: Hand Launch Sailplanes

What are you looking for--a beginner dlg, or a contest level plane? The "best" is going to be a matter of opinion, even if it's narrowed down to best beginner or best contest dlg. Rcgroups...

Ka6

They are great slope planes. And they ARE durable. I had the misfortune of getting my Filip in the way of one and my plane got cut in half. The EPP Ka6A hardly bobbled.

I had heard that they...

Futaba 8U or 9C ?

I have both. I would not have bougth the 9C if not for the fact that I actually NEEDED the 9th channel for a 10- servo scale sailplane.

The 9C is (definitely better easier to program and a few...

8UAFS vs. 9CAF

I have both. Trust me, the 9C is definitely an improvement. I keep the 8U as a backup only.

BUT...the 8U is a really good radio and there are many of them for sell used out there. You can get...

Double Packs

We can make this even more interesting: As I understand it, your charger will not know the difference. Actually, does the Super Turbo even know how many cells it's charging? Does it matter?

super turbo

You can charge two packs at once if they are the same type and capacity and general state of condition. Even three or four packs if you wire them in series (maybe it's parallel, I always confuse...

I've ordered from them at least four times in the past. Each time the order arrived in a couple days. They have always been great to deal with. I had to order by phone, so if you can now order...

Gasser vibes

This may sound way too obvious, but make sure ALL, yes ALL the screws are tight, especially those in the frame!

I spent months trying to track down a vibration in my Xcell gasser and I'm not new...

Don't panic

I'm not a gasser guru, but it's not that hard. Gassers are a little different, that's all. The initial (small) hassles in learning to use gas far outweigh bigger hassles of using nitro.

If you...

How much power needed for tow?

OK...my original question was whether or not my Sr. Telemaster with a 3w-24 would do the job of towing a 4 meter ASH26.

It looks like Don Bailey (of S&E Modeler fame?) thinks it can be done.

How much power needed for tow?

I need some opinions on aerotowing. I want to use a Senior Telemaster and a 3W-24 to tow 4-meter scale sailplanes. Some say I need a bigger engine, but others say even marginal gassers on a ST will...

Re: Organic

I bought the 2m Organic by FVK. I haven't assembled or flown it yet, but it's just about the most gorgeous glider I've seen! The carbon-kevlar construction is really amazing and certainly eye candy....
