RE: EXI - Pretty Sweet Deal For 99 Bucks

Initially, I was considering a CopterX SE but the shipping was a real deterrent. Many of the guys in our club have been buying Motors, Esc's, servos, Li-po's and other small stuff from United Hobbies...

RE: EXI - Pretty Sweet Deal For 99 Bucks

You're right, I'll look there too. It will be awhile before I get it built. Need to decide on a gyro and a few other odds and ends. Let us know how yours flys (it will fly, right?).

RE: EXI - Pretty Sweet Deal For 99 Bucks

I shopped around for months looking for a T-Rex type helicopter at a reasonable price. The only thing my local dealer had or could get was a T-Rex 450SA at 270 bucks. I happened to check the Nitro...

RE: Icare Nimbus 4 or Duo Discus

I'm having the same problem deciding on a good 3 - 4 meter sailplane thats the right size and price for my budget. One thing you SHOULD consider (unless you are related to Bill Gates) are the...

RE: microchopter? NanoChopter3000?

I've done some more testing and have concluded that it is much easier to fly WITHOUT any nose weight attached. Forward speed is pretty slow though. I tried again a few minutes ago with a thumb tack...

RE: microchopter? NanoChopter3000?

I used 2 or three sewing pins to start with. The type with a little plastic head on them. I tried one of those small 1" long small nails used for picture hanging and it seems to work. I tried another...

RE: microchopter? NanoChopter3000?

The little Nano copter (6.5" long) is a great buy for the first time copter pilot (like me). Got mine at RAIDENTECH for 29.95. Well worth the money. Took about a minute to learn to fly the thing....

RE: Horizon Hobby Dumps MDS Line?

OK guys, I've read three pages of pro's and cons of MDS engine owning and operation and see some good suggestions on the pro side of the issue.

A buddy of mine has a brand new (NIB) MDS 1.48...

RE: Great Planes Tiger Moth looks good but is it?

I'm Just starting to put my Moth together. Noticed that the firewall is offset with some right thrust built in. Also noticed that the motor mount location marks are moved to the left somewhat. The...

RE: Graupner Extra 300

I posted the same question about a year ago and got several good replies. The best one I got (good aerodynamic match) was 4 3/8" from the leading edge.
As for the tail reinforcement. Hobby Lobby...

American Aircraft Modeler Plans?

During the years when American Aircraft Modeler was still in business, they had some very nice r/c and control line model plans. I would like to know what happened to all these plans. Does anyone...

Engine Size for 1/6 Sopwith Camel

That's 2.78 lbs uncovered, less engine, radio uncovered and unpainted. 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 lbs would be about right.
The original engine specification for the VK WWI airplanes was for a Supertigre...

Engine Size for 1/6 Sopwith Camel

Sorry I misspelled Proctor. As for level of difficulty of VK-Proctor kits compared to GP PT 40. The PT-40 would be about a 2 or 3 and the VK kits are 8 to 10.

Would make for a very satisfying...

Engine Size for 1/6 Sopwith Camel

The VK-Provtor kits are what you would call 'builders kits'. They aren't for beginners, but it's nothing you can't handle as long as you take your time. I've been building my VK DRI triplane (off and...

Sounds interesting. A larger number of classes would give everyone a opportunity to find his 'niche'. Lets not forget the .049 - .061 speed merchants that have 100 mph small planes.

You could...
