almost forgot,, wing is 2 deg. positive related to float tops. i think setup is good? what shoul i expect on first takeoff?

floats are home made. white foam sawn out with bandsaw. balsa sheeted, resin sealed and painted. cg is 1/4 in. behind step. temp. in the 20's F here. will be a couple of months to flying season!!!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE MYWAY. I CURRENTLY FLY A STINGER 10 WITH MAGN .15.
I HAVE 40 AND 60 SIZE PLANES IN THE HANGER BUT SEEM TO PUT IN
MORE FLIGHTS WITH THE STINGER. ITS A BLAST .....AND SIPS...

I'M CONSIDERING A SCRATCH BUILT 90% QUICKIE 500.
45" SPAN 9" CHORD. WILL TRY TO KEEP WEIGHT AROUND
3.75 LBS....LESS MAYBE? ANY THOUGHTS ON PROPS, ESTIMATED SPEED?
WILL USE TOWER 40 ON 15%...

JUST REMEMBERED THE "WICKED WANDA" PLAN IN RCM IS VERY CLOSE TO A 4* BUT IN A .15 SIZE. THOUGHT ABOUT BUILDING ONE BUT NO TIME NOW!!! SCRATCH BUILDING FROM PLANS GETS YOU NEARLY ANYTHING YOU WANT!!!

mag 61

i have 2 magnums..if you have problems disassemble them and check for extra head gaskets. my 61 had 3 took one out..reset valves drilled exhuast baffle out... now turns 9800rpm with 12x6...

phaeton 2 ailerons

i built a phaeton with 4 ailerons..servo in each lower wing. quick roll rate is what i wanted. i dont think you will be happy with stock set up....4 stroke mag. .61 powers it nicely.
