RE: zagi tape

For the finish do not use duct tape - it's too heavy.

Use packing tape or ultracover or oracover (not monokote - too heavy) - any good model shop should have a supply.

Of course you'll need...

RE: Battery comparison

I'm using 1050 KAN's on a standard 400 in a Unicorn and they're great.
Are you adding extra, unnecessary weight with 1800mAH?

RE: Re skined a EL Bee (Windrider)

I built mine almost as stock - a few small mods here and there.

I've managed to extend the rods with a spare link - just one of
those things I guess. The rods they supply look like bicycle...

RE: Windrider Ele Bee Construction

Little chance today - windy and rainy (should that stop me?)
I'll let you know as soon as it's in the air.

RE: Windrider Ele Bee Construction

I've flown an Ele Bee (called an X-ite here in the UK). It's a good plane, although the Unicorn is my favourite. Having said that, I've just bought and (hopefully this evening) will be finishing my...

RE: Re skined a EL Bee (Windrider)

Are your servos in the stock position? - I've finished building an El Bee (an X-ite over here in the UK) and the control rods don't reach the elevons.

By the way - a nice finish - I bet it goes...

RE: Zagi Uk Flyers

The Unicorn is fantastic. All EPP, weighs about 25oz all in. Flies like a dream.
Will do almost anything you want, depending on what motor you use.

RE: Unicorn Wing Maiden Flight

Launcing my Unicorn I hold it by the engine tube. Thumb under the wing, fingers either side of the tube. Of course, without the motor runing I toss it up and into with wind, let it glide for a few...

RE: EPP Foam Wing - Landing on Pavement?

This thread isn't about Zagi's - it's about Unicorns. A similar breed, but a different beast. They glide so slowly catching them is a possibilty, if of course you're careful. Mine weighs in at...

RE: Unicorn Wing Maiden Flight

Congrats on your maiden - here's a common solution to the winglet problem:

Tape them on as you do and mark out four groves to cut out and use the filament tape to tape them on.
This gives them...

RE: EPP Foam Wing - Landing on Pavement?

How sharp is the stubble weed compared with the dirt - which would scratch the model least?

I'll second that - try catching the model - it's not as crazy as you may think.

Enjoy the Unicorn...
