RE: RE: Bad advice to buy: CENTURY JET MFG

Hearsay may be interesting, but I think having people list their personal experiences would be much more beneficial to this forum.

RE: RE: Bad advice to buy: CENTURY JET MFG

LOL that's my point!

I wasn't making a recommendation that everyone should just take their chances, you are making that assumption. I doubt you have been hearing complaints about CJM for 20...

RE: RE: Bad advice to buy: CENTURY JET MFG

I think you are missing the point Mustang51, CJM probably has many satisfied customers. I have only bought one set of gear from them for a TF P-51 and they work great. Read the quote above, F4u5 made...

RE: Darn clear got fogged on one wing

Yea, you mix part A and part B, then when it's the consistency of honey you paint on a thick coat with a large bristle brush.[X(] That's why none of Dave Platt's planes can fly, to heavy! In the 70's...

RE: Definitive Size of Corsair

It wasn't 16" :D! It was 8".

41' = 492" / 8 = 61.5" For the clipped wing version that would be 41' - 16" = 39' 8" = 476" / 8 =59.5".

I don't know what the TF Corsair wing is but it's semi...

RE: Darn clear got fogged on one wing

Don't use Lusterkote and don't use house paint on your plane and you should be ok. I always use epoxy, it is superior to house paint in all weather conditions and with all fuels, no worries ever.

RE: TF Spit push rods and glassing

2 servos as apposed to 4 is a significant savings in weight. Light wing tips allow the aircraft to begin and end rolling maneuvers quickly and crisply, spin recovery time is shortened. Some full...

RE: TF Spit push rods and glassing

Don't put a hatch on the top of the wing, that would look ugly. Do as it suggests, it's an easy task to put some tape over the end of the push rod and lay the glass cloth over it. When you smooth the...

RE: Flying the F-4, Great Planes (prop jet) kit

Glad it helped Jim, the plane is pretty darn smooth, it was just me over controlling the ailerons on landing trying to get it perfectly flat. That was one of my early flights with the F-4 and the...

RE: Flying the F-4, Great Planes (prop jet) kit

Ok, one more try. I ZIPed the file and it came out to 5.11 megs. It's in the WMV format, and the sound sucks! But you can see the video of the flight and landing. This was a typical flight of over...

RE: Flying the F-4, Great Planes (prop jet) kit

Hi Randy and Jim, sorry about the video. I first used Windows Movie Maker but I can't use that type of file on my web site, I can only upload AVI, MDV, MPEG AND MPG files. I converted it to AVI in...

RE: Retractable mustang canopy

The system show below was used on the Jemco Master scale Mustang in the early 80's, I used it to add a sliding canopy on my P-51 at that time and it worked great, I just used a piece of flexible...

RE: Flying the F-4, Great Planes (prop jet) kit

Jim,

Thanks, I like the looks of all F-4's! Randy your plane looks very nice too. I sold my F-4 after flying it for a few years, many flights! It went through two more owners and then I lost...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: More progress on my Bates SBD!

Mark Mark Mark, you presume so much and appear to know so very little. I've been reading RCU for almost 2 years, just recently did I decide to add to the discussions. Anyway what's your point, or are...

RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: More progress on my Bates SBD!

Mark come on dude, it wasn't finding fault, I like open discussion because it gives me ideas!!! I think it's a great idea to go over the tips with a copper color, I would have never thought of that....

RE: Flying the F-4, Great Planes (prop jet) kit

Really nice paint job! Jim what was used on yours for covering material? I've got another one to finish and I want to do this next one as light as possible. Keeping the nose light is really the key...

RE: Flying the F-4, Great Planes (prop jet) kit

It lands easier than an ugly stick, kingair41 might just be afraid to slow it down. My stabs got ground down because I would land at such a nose high attitude. Slow down and get the nose up and use...

RE: Finally..., building the Stafford B-24

Looks great, keep it going. Show some close ups of those details like the flaps and things, that would help when I build mine!

RE: Spitfire or Corsair?

The Spit has it's place in history but it is not a good model. Poor landing gear design, you will scape those thin wing tips! The tail feathers need to be enlarged and this makes for an ugly model....
