ok, Graham, i put just a little grease and worked it into the needle bearings, not crammed full to where it would clog, just enough, however, i am the 1'st to admit to being a fng, you obviously...

I removed the back plate of my new violator to loctite screws and discovered the 1 way and gears to be dry, i assumed the bearing would enjoy a little high temp grease, but I have since found...

Thanks, I also found the sticker kit and antennae tube under the cardboard in the box. I also disassembled the roto start to check the back plate and found one of the screws for the back plate...

driveline preventative maintenance??

Other than main spur mesh, are there any other clearances, slop, binding, freeplay, etc. checks to avoid preventable premature expensive part replacement?:D

What about the diff's? and are there any other slop, mesh, freeplay, tightness, etc. checks in the drivetrain? again I don't like and can't afford expensive surprizes:D

will gear mesh be obvious when i see it? and are you refering to max servo throw for steering and throttle-brake? if so, don't you check every time before you run?
