RE: New Somenized (TM) 69", Yak-54

I sincerely doubt that we'll see any improvements in the landing gear because the current landing gear is still functional.

If you check out some of the earler postings in this thread, people...

I'm using a 2 1/2" standard shape Tru-Turn anodized red with the slots custom cut to fit the APC 17X6.

So Reza, what you're saying is that you guy's don't know anything about this plane. You've never seen it before, and it's your speculation that someone has copied QQ's 69" Yak 54 part for...

RE: 69" QQ Yak-54

Congratulations on your success,

It looks like you're getting about 10% more power than predicted with the FlightPower 20C batteries. I assume it's because you're using 25C batteries instead,...

RE: 69" QQ Yak-54

Francesco,

I don't recall having any issue with the OS 120 AX. Any offbalance due to the motor wasn't enough to affect the balance of the plane.

Brenner ...

RE: 69" QQ Yak-54

Sorry Francesco,

RE: 69" QQ Yak-54

Well, I finally finished getting Yak put together. It's taken me a while because when we had the horn issue, I put the Yak aside and focussed on Pattern, but now it's finished. Anyhow, I just wanted...

RE: 69" QQ Yak-54

Now that I think about it, you could probably get by with an A123 10s1p pack and end up saving weight. This would give you 2300 mah as compared to your current 4200 mah pack, but if you're getting...

RE: 69" QQ Yak-54

An f3a 2 meter class pattern plane uses about 2500 watts at full throttle, so with a ready to fly weight of 11 lbs the power to weight ratio calculates out to be 225 W/lb. Your Yak weighs 9.5 lbs, so...

RE: 69" QQ Yak-54

I've been working a bit more with the kinematics, and now I think I can get the linkage to work without drilling a new hole in the elevator horn.

What I would do is use the inner hole on the...

RE: 69" QQ Yak-54

Good point!

I'd much rather have the stock gear, painted in the right color, without it being all cut up.

I'm interesting in learning about landing gear updates too, and if there is no update, I'd be interested to know if there's a third party landing gear available that will fit the 69" Yak....

RE: 69" QQ Yak-54

Reza,

Could I ask what props you recommend for the OS 120, & the YS 110? Also, how do you prop these motors when you want to fly 3D, and when you want to fly precision?
