RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

I didn't know Imax made packs? Do they make a 3200 25C pack?

..Yeah, the Art-Tech batteries have more capacity 2200 vs the Esky's 1800) so they should run longer.. and they did perform great...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

OK. I just don't want to mess with moving the esc and and making a battery mount up there if I don't plan to use larger packs long term in the heli. It's a pita to move stuff around on the frames...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

UFC, I'm runnin a DS 928 digital servo (cheap and effective) on the tail of my shark paired with the stock v2 Art-Tech gyro. If you get the pitch curves set perfectly and the throttle curves, it...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

I don't run the Kongs on the Shark.. only in series in the H550's. I'm getting around 9min with the Esky 1800 and MegaPower 2100. The Art-Tech stock batteries are only giving me 6 minutes of hard...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

Before you go out and buy them, the Kong Power 2200 25C's won't fit in the standard Shark 450 frame. I guess they would work if you mount them up above where the esc is and move all the wires and...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

Yup, that's what I have in my shark and I have a lot of flights on that combo. I like it better than the stock motor. It seems to have plenty of head speed when throttle curve is set mid point...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

The 300 HDX - 4200 motor works great on the shark with a 12T pinion.

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

If you made it past 10 cycles on both you might be in good shape with them. Mine never made it that far. :( It seems that there was a bad batch of them with some working out "OK" and others poofin...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

ginnz, it's great to know that the gyro will work out OK mounted in the frame. I might do that if I move up to a better gyro eventually. I did think about mounting it down in the frame but wasn't...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

I think the stock 2200 Li-Po is something like a 12C. The KongPower 2200 25C's work well in the Shark but it is a tight fit. The MegaPower 2100 20C's will fit it as well.

yeah, they are 325's.

That was my thought.. how many of the parts are compatible with another heli. You might find some posts about it on the other forums. I do remember reading...

Oh.. OK. I see it now. It looks like the same servo's, gyro, TX, charger. Different battery, motor and ESC though. I can ask around to see if anyone I know of has purchased one. If I find...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

ginnz, my shark was setup and test flown before I got it so I didn't have to adjust anything. There is a slight vibration at lower rpm until the blades get up to speed, but once it leaves the ground...

Cool. Let me know what you think of it on the first flight - and of course after that when you open it up a bit. I was (and still am) really impressed with how smooth it is.

I've talked to...

I'm not sure what you mean by standing behind it lol. If you mean, am I sorry I bought it? No way. Do I enjoy flying it? Yessir! I'm not the designer that built it, just a happy...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

The Microheli V2 tail that I'm running on it now is a big step up from the stock tail, but I don't know that it justifies the price right off the bat. Is there any reason why you went with Align...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

No, but they are very similar. The Falcon is a little longer, the Shark taller and heavier with larger rotor span. The batteries are different as are the motors and esc's. The Falcon's have gear...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

It's a belt driven tail. You must be thinking of the falcon's that have the conical driven tails. The original tail was slightly damaged in shipping so Rusty upgraded me to a microheli, V2 style......

The ESKY and EFLY 2.4 TX's are on the way as well - hopefully by mid-summer.

Rusty is continuing to test the Esky dual conversion RX's with the stock TX's and they have worked well to date. ...

RE: Art-Tech Shark 450

It took me a while to find this thread. :) I have been the happy owner of an Art-Tech Shark 450 for a few months now and it's been and still is a super heli. 60 flights and no crashes so I can't...
