RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Hey Scott,
Thanks for the info on the batteries. And yeah, it is very sad that people would use the public ball fields as their waste dump. I was talking to a guy there last week when I found it...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Yeah Scott, I hear ya about the winter wind. It seems like it is always real windy here all winter. Damn cold air blowin down here from Canada, and lots of "lake effect" snow before Lake Erie freezes...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Well, I didn't have lots of time to fly today, but I did get to run 3 batteries thru the newly rebuilt BH450, and it flew perfect.:D I guess I can quit crashing now since I learned how to repair...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Hey Scott,
Sorry to hear about your Hyp. motor failure on the 550 in the other forum. Are you gonna use the z-30 in it now. How do you like Ben's frame? Been thinking about getting one, but then, I...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Well, it seems that the BH450 will be back in the air soon after all. I emailed Ka-Planes and advised them about the faulty swash plate. Christina emailed me back and asked me to give her a list of...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Well, after a complete rebuild, including new swash plate, all new link ends, dampers, spindle shaft, etc. I took the BH450 out to the field today. Spooled it up into a hover and it was perfect....

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Well, I got my parts today and got the BH450 repaired, sort-of. Since I ordered some spare parts Before the crash, I didn't get an extra set of CF blades so I put a set of woodies on it for now till...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Well Scott, I think the frustration was simply because I don't have the parts right now to get the BH450 back in the air. Still didn't get the parts I ordered last Thursday. You know me, I won't...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Well, I guess I jinxed myself. Haven't had a crash in quite a while, which was good since I didn't have any of the 'normal' crash repair parts on hand. Ka-Planes recently restocked the BH450 parts,...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

I really like the colors on that canopy Scott. When I built my Hurricane 550 last winter they didn't have the Fusunos in that color scheme. Now it seems that Helidirect is out of stock on it and...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Lookin good Scott. I like the canopy. Is that a Fusuno from Helidirect? It looks much better mounted on a heli than it does looking at just the pic of the canopy itself.

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Well, I guess today's lessen was about the importance of doing a good pre-flight inspection.
I went out to the field with 3 helis today for a few quick flights. Flew the King2 first and after a...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

I had the Align step-down between the gyro and tail servo on my 550 too. They were cheap so I just ordered 3 of them while getting all the stuff for the build and figured I might need more someday...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Well you are a lot farther along than me since I don't really have the funds for all the electronics yet. At least yours will be flying before the snow does, but mine likely won't be. I probably...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Hey Scott, If you can find the Manual online for the Hurricane 550 it is a little better than the one that came with the 425, and since they are basically the same build it might help you some. And...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Looks like you will have a great heli when you are done Scott. The AR6200 should be fine for it. I have the AR7000 in my 550 only because it came with my DX7, and also used the DS821 servos that came...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Yep, any canopy made for the Hurricane 550 will fit. The Gaui A and B canopies, or the Fusuno canopy will fit. Not sure what tail boom conversion kit you got, but to convert to 550 you will need the...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Yeah, CNC parts are expensive for most all helis, but I got lucky. A couple months ago GrandRC had the complete Gaui CNC head assembly mounted on the main shaft on sale for $129 so I bought one....

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Well, since I already have one running 550mm blades, I am gonna build it to run 425's, so I will need a higher head speed than the 550. I have decided to use the Tonic-X Z20, 1470kv with a 14T...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Scott, better check the dimensions on the Scorp 4020 after you assemble the heli as I don't think that it will fit between the pitch and roll arms. I think the diameter is too big. A real good...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

I looked the manual over briefly today before I left for work. ( I work the 2nd shift.) The build is pretty much the same as the 550 that I have, with a few exceptions. The recommended head speed is...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Hey Scott, if you are wondering what parts can be used for the 425 and 550, here is a link that has all the info. Btw, there are 3 different lengths of tail booms available, so you can run blades...

RE: Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

I got my BH450 and my Gaui Hurricane 550 both from Ka-Planes. Nice people to do business with.
Not sure how I will configure the new Hurricane 425 yet Scott. The one I have now was the 550 kit and...

Helipro Blackhawk owners; Past, Present, Future

Just thought that I would start a new thread for all of the Helipro Blackhawk owners that have become RCU friends over the past months or years. Although I still fly my BH450SE every chance I get,...
