Default 'Worst Stuck'

Drat, did it again last night. Dribbled some thin CA on teh tip of my fingure, andit glued my finger nail to the tip of my finger. Hate that!!

And, don't we hate it when our fingres get glued to the pice you're tryign to glue, only to find it stuck better to your fingure?!

With that, I ask... What is your 'worst stuck' story?!

I remeber a time, one of the first airplanes Kev & I built; King Kobra Sheeted foam wings. No probs. Mix up a geneous amount of epoxy, slather it on the wing cores, and then add the sheeting. Press in the 'cradles' (the 'negative' from cut foam cores) to let cure. We were doing this on a coffee table, so it was easy to work on. When positioning the top 'cradle', I leaned over to check that all was OK, and my hair 'mated' with the epoxy mixing pad..... An 8.5 x 11 pad of paper generously layers with 5 minute old mixed 15 min epoxy...

Well, we all know, that epoxy waits for no one, so I had to set things right before cleaning up.. It took about two weeks for all teh epoxy to finally leave my hair!!

I got my right hand glued to the cat. The cat would always sleep on my table, well, I was gluing away with that good old non-toxic thin CA and got it on my hand. Ding Dong (my pet name for this obtrusive ball of hair) decided he needed a stretch and extended his body over into my building space. Not realizing that I had wet glue on my right hand, I, by a simple reflex, proceeded to give Mr. FuzzButt a good push a couple of inches, and when I tried to relieve the pressure I was executing on his behind, I realized that my right palm was adhered to his fur and skin.

Contemplating my predicament, I found that my left hand was within reach of my Exacto knife. Being careful not to wake or excite Mr. Dong, I carefully reached for the knife and proceeded to cut myself free of this giant ball of fuzz and fat.

Then he woke up, and upon realizing that he and I had bonded, became quite hysterical. So upset in fact that instead of running, he proceeded to turn upon me to free himself from my palm as a wolf would from from a trap. Until now, I never thought about what it would be like to stick my hand in a wood chipper, I now can imagine what that feeling would be like. He was gnawing and buzzing and hissing and I was cussing to no extent. Within seconds, after what seemed to be an eternity, he fell off the table and we both let out a big scream. The fall broke our bond, and to this day, my family still won't ask of what happened to all the fur on Ding Dongs behind, nor will it be asked of me to explain all the fur on my right palm.

Too bad you don't have a video........the mental picture is really funny! The cat with with a bald spot on his rump and you with a furry palm I laughed so hard I had coffee coming from my nose. [sm=lol.gif]

I was clearing a tube a long long time ago and had it pop some in my eye. That was nasty. Didn't get much in there, but a friend got a ton in his doing the same thing. Not fun!

Worst:

Back in 79 or 80, I was building a plane and I begged my dad to let me use CA instead of Ambroid. So he did. At the time there was only type available, Hot Stuff and it was what we would consider thin CA, now.

So..........I'm in my room building a Sig Scamp, I think, and that bottle tipped over. I didn't know. All of a sudden, my left arm started to burn, however I was holding something so I couldn't move my arm. Yep, glued my left arm to the building table and plans and all my mother kept saying was "DON'T GLUE YOURSELF TO ANYTHING!!!" I did. I was more upset that if my mom found out what happened, she would not let me use the Hot Stuff any more. So I didn't call for help, I just RIPPED my arm off the table. WOW, so thats what skin looks like on the inside . For about the next week, I wore long shirts, so noone would know I was missing a layer of skin.

Funny:

I will work on my planes in my living room watching TV. Let me give you all a tip. If you work with CA, do not wear boxer shorts. Holding up a plane, gluing something inside, allot of CA dripped......................There are some area's of the male body that has very sensitive skin, and when CA comes in contact with it.........BURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a burn I do not wish on anyone. Picking the CA off becomes a challenge because you I wasn't going after it with polish remover..............wear pants.
