Default Help in choosing a new plane.

I was lucky enough to win a new os 70 surpass, I would like some suggestions from the experts as to which plane I should put it in. I know there are many different opinions, and preferrences, but experience with a certain model, from one who has experience, would be appreciated. I am just past the beginner stage and am looking to move up to the next challange in this fun hobby. Thank you. Al

Four Star 40 or Somethin Extra would both be pretty good.

The Tiger airplanes are excellent second planes, I had a Tiger2 and I loved it!

At my club there's a Tiger2 with a 52Surpass and it has very good performance. The 70 would be too much weight for the Tiger2, the specs suggest a .50 4stroke and I think they're right!

For the 70Surpass I'd suggest a Tiger60, it is enough power for a novice/intermediate pilot. APC12x8 for "smooth" flying, and the plane won't "fly out of your hands".

Good luck, you have an excellent (but a little heavy) engine. Use it wisely!

Thank you all very much for the info. One other question. If the 70 four stroke will handle the 60 size Tiger 2 will it also handle the Four Star 60? I don't need a rocket ship the first time around, just a good flying plane that will help me advance. Maybe the larger size will help my old eyes see it better.
Thanks, Al

I have a 4*60 and a TT .61 2s. I'd have to say it "may" fly it, but definately is a bit underpowered. You'd probably need a 90 4s to fly it.

My 60 has enough power to fly and pretty fast, but not much else. I'd use it on the 40 size 4* personally.

Yes, the 4*60 is bigger than the Tiger60. I think the 70Surpass would "fly it" anyway, but don't look for many aerobatics.

I would go with the Tiger, as I think it is a better design than the 4*. It is more stable and precise, with better ground behaviour. I think it looks better too.

Good luck!
