Ok, I am hoping that this may simplify shock set up and so on to more people then just myself.
I realize that the Manual tells you the basics of Moving the shocks in and out, but I dont notice much of a difference in moving the Top of the rear shock out or in. Also, I installed an Aluminum front and rear shock tower..the Aluminum ones have more holes..giving you not only a inside and outside choice, but an up and down choice as well..so there is actually 6 or 8 holes that the rear top shock can be screwd into. So, what experiences have you had with different mounting positions?
The Reason I bring this up as well, is that I am in the process of putting my Evader back together and I noticed that my Stock shocks stick. When compressed they dont extend in a fluid motion. I had noticed when I took them off that here was alot of gunk around the bottom of the shocks, I think it may have been shock oil but im not sure. Do shocks leak alittle on a normal basis? Should they?
Is there a Good aftermarket shock for the nitro Evader ST? A good all-around shock. What Weight of shock oil ( I know that depends on what terrain your on) but there has to be a middle ground with the Spring/Oil/and Adjusting....know what I mean.
Hard Spring+ Low Weight Shock Oil =????
Soft Spring + Low Weight =??
Im looking to find the best ALL-Around Shock, something that could take a larger jump but is best on meduim jumps however the same shock will rip on the bumps.. Im betting that Using my Evader on road may need a whole different shock set up period, but im more interested in the offroad stuff. Im not specifically looking for an answer to an exact question, just starting a shock thread..
P.S....Would Normal Transmission oil work as a lub for the gearbox? With all 3 gears metal?

I have next to no experience as far as suspension goes, but I have a setup on my MT2 that seems to be working quite well, much to my surprise
. I'm using the stock shocks, but not springs. Well, two of them are, but not for long. I mostly run on pavement, light gravel, grass, and dusty, packed dirt. I've only jumped it a little bit, but my setup seems to be holding up very well and I'm liking it. I use 35 weight oil all around, and soft springs up front and medium ones in the back. The LHS was sold out of the soft shocks in the back but I went ahead and bought the front ones anyway. Though I'm still going to put on soft ones on the back, right now, this setup is working great! It takes small jumps well and doesn't come close to bottoming out, and absorbs larger bumps quite well. The smaller bumps aren't quite as nice though, but it isn't a big deal for me. I don't race at tracks, but I do occasionally challenge my neighbor to a few races though he has to use my other car, which is MUCH slower
.
Anyways, don't take my word for this, let someone else that's more knowledgeable tell you what's what with suspension.
Hope that helps anyways.

More than you'll likely ever need to know about car handling [link=http://www.teamorion.com/faq/car-handling3.asp]here[/link]. Interesting read, good info.
