well i picked up a jato today my first nitro rc, and while breaking it in it kept cutting out so i thought okay i will adjust the idle speed so i did and i turned it all the way clockwise so i could turn the needle back and know where i am at, well i dont know if thats what did it but i think i torqued the needle too much and broke the carb, it wasnt running at the time, and i fired it up later to see if it was a fluke and it ran great, but fuel poured out of the bottom, did i destroy the carb or was it something else? i felt a slight spray coming from the general area of the fuel line, but i hear it wouldnt work at all if that were the case because of the pressure running through that line, the fuel comes out of the exhaust and the bottom of the chassis below the engine sort of, thanks guys.

No dude, you should of adjusted the high speed needle not the Idle. Make sure you read the directions and watch the DVD.
Sounds like your cracked the carb body. You should get something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...Name=WD1V&rd=1 or you can just buy the carb body for cheap and assemble it yourself if you feel up to it. Sucks that you tightened it too much.

yea dude, when u get that 2.5, you dont adjust it when u first get it. You run it on the stock settings traxxas gives you, then after your 3rd-4th tank you can slowly adjust the high speed needle. Usually you would give it more lean because the traxxas settings are rich....or should be.
I have the Traxxas 2.5r in my nitro 4-tec and it runs great. Also make sure you break in the engine the way traxxas tells you or you will have problems.

the guy at my local hobbytown just charged me for the carb and fixed it himself for no extra charge, 35 dollars was the cost for the new carb.

actually the hobbytown owner who was fixing it called me saying i didnt break anything at all, the nut under the carb needle was loose and that was causing a fuel leak some how, he finger tightened it and it runs great now, how odd........
