The best is probably the Fantom FR18, although a OS .18 or even a Piccc .21 are good.

Get an OS .12 or Fantom .12. .12's make ST's a heck of a lot easier to control.

I would get the Epic .18, it has 1.8HP @ 39,000 RPM, which is more than the O.S. .12 Turbo, and it is cheaper

If you don't mind using a dremel a little bit, you can get an OS .12 CV-X to fit. I'm about to do this with mine, as the stock mill is [sm=bananahead.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif]

I ran an o.s. 18 tm in mine for a bit then I decided to put the trx 2.5 back in it. IMHO the trx 2.5 is a perfect match for the rusty, it generally has more power than I need in that light little ST, but not so much as to make it difficult to control. With the .18 tm in it all I ever did was spun out, even when running pretty fast, opening the carb up would break the back end loose and make it tough to keep under control. So I put the TM back in my max and stuck with the TRX 2.5 in the rusty.

The OS is stronger and easier to tune than the FR18, and that 21 is a big-block.... it won't fit.

The picco 21 is actually a "medium block." Still not sure about it fitting though. I'd stay away from the Fantom FR18. I have the 04 version and they recently discontinued all of it's parts. The crappy crankcase on mine snapped (just snapped) and now I can't track down a replacement. Nobody has them... I have a FR18 with 1 gallon on it and until I can find a case I can't run it. 160 bucks down the hatch. Toki engines are lacking compared to OS, SH, ect...

I am far from knowing it all but I have never heard of a medium block! I know of big blocks and small blocks. I agree with frost and think the .21 is a big block. Either way the .21 would take a lot more to put in then a small block. I would get a OS .18 CV-RX and if you want all out FAST and see how well your truck is made get the highest HP small block make the OS .18 TZ. I hope to be getting the TZ with in the next couple of months.

No, it isn't; it's just like every other BB.

Sirio's .23 is the only med block.

Thanks for the information. So there is such a thing as a middle block but only one ever made. I guess that is why I have never heard of it since there has only been one made. I know size has something to do with it but being there are small blocks from .10 to .18 and big blocks from (not sure where they start and end as it is an ever changing thing) .20 to over .30. But does mounting bolt pattern have a lot to do with where it is a big block or a small block? If so I am guessing then the only middle block is different from either one? [8D]

I know you did not ask me but here is what I think. Since in my and most others opinion heat cycling is the best way to break a motor in I sure would not use a static stand for break in. In heat cycling you have to run the vehicle and not let it sit and idle. If you want to let sit and idle you can do that in the car. Do not know about the stand you are talking about but if it has a fan you always have one aimed on the motor while in the car, which I do not recommend, for break in. The only stand I would put my money in if I had it would be and engine dyno all others in my opinion are a waste of money. But each to there own.

It all depends on your situation. If you are planning to break in a few personal RC engines, then it absolutely is not worth the money. if you own a hobby shop and offer engine break-in services, but do not want to be bothered with building your own stand, then it is worth the money, but since you can really build your own comparable stand for a fraction of the cost (especially if you are a hobby shop owner and can get the required parts at cost or from the scrap bin) I would say no.

The only really nice feature it has is the prop cover, which could be slapped together from scrap metal or plastic.

There are much better ways you could spend your money.

WHOA, W T F..... I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THAT HUGE PIC GOT THERE... it's a forum glitch. That pic was sent to someone VIA a PM... 85x85 is the new max, so don't ever change yours or it'll force you to resize it.

Wow that was odd. Yours was showing up as a gaint pic. If I find time i will resize and reupload mine just to be a conformist.

DOWN WITH CONFORMITY!!!!

I bet I could reproduce the forum glitch that caused it.

I couldn't find my original, so I yanked this smaller one off of LS1tech.com to use in the meantime... same pic and all.

I'm at work ATM, but tonight I'll try and screw things up again so I can point it out to the admins.

It's odd, while at first it showed up large to you, on my end (even refreshed) for a while it showed the same. That's how I got the pixel count, from checking properties.

That was a pic of me my GF took after an all day concert outside at the beach 4-5 summers ago (Warped Tour)... Mad burn. Looking back, I seem kinda thugged out in that pic....
