I tell you , That the JetLegend Kit is Nice But it is absolutely without any Instructions. If you aren't Careful, you could end up with a number of problems that would be difficult to overcome. Does anyone know if their is room to set the fuel cells in foam. without deforming the fuse? Should they float in foam or is a good silicone OK?
Any other suggestions or Ideas on the build of this kit including sequence will be very much appreciated.

Main doors are on with Offset hinges. It took all night to do the first one and 20 minutes to do the other side.
Sorry for the Cell Phone shots, I used a single pin with all 3 hinges on it. Doors are bolted to the hinge. for removal.

Hi drdoom,
I found that the turbine rails hold the tank securely without additional “fixativeâ€. Just a layer of protective material over the shortened wing fixing bracket bolts being more than adequate.
Checkout RCJI June/July and Aug/Sept issues for a kit review and also the thread here on RCU

Protecting the tank from the wing mount is a great idea. Thanks
I poped the tanks in this morning to se how much space they took up.
It is not going to be easy to find room for the door cylinders. How well did your main doors fit?

Hi drdoom,
Fit of the main doors was very good. It took me a long time to fit the doors and cylinders as they were a first for me.

Hi drdoom,
I shortened the removable ducting by approx 3†to accommodate the cylinder support. The ducting is still secure because of the long overlap with the fixed ducting and the screw holding them together. The turbine still gets plenty of air.
Five more flights today against a blue sky for a change!

Does that air cylinder pillar protrude up into the air intake? Your installation of the air cylinders looks very neat.

I looked those over very well before I begain building. But you can never get too many ideas.
I got the kit instead of the arf so Nothing was installed. I have had a lot of fun putting this togather.
I bought Jet Model Products Air accumulator for the doors and the gear. distributes equal air to each component at the same time.
I am also using the JMP sequencer for the gear and doors. Using a JR 10X with the DS-8711 servos on the horozontal stabs.
p-70 for power.

Hi drdoom,
As you will see from the (not very good) photos I cut a little of the nose wheel cassette away to accommodate the door cylinder.
My F16 at 17.5lb dry is fast with the Wren 54 MK3 at 14.5lbf. Yours with the P70 should be very interesting!
Rgds,
Eric

I got my nose gear door on last night and have it swinging as it should.
I wish I had a smaller set of door cylinders. Ill do the mains as you have.
Not going to be fun doing the nose gear door Link and cylinder.
Iv'e turned back the RPM pn the P-70. Ill bet their is not that much Differnce.
I was hoping for a very fast spool time, Not more speed. Before the kit arrived I had purchased
an Artes Falcon 100 for it, Because it is about the same diameter as the p-80 and I thought it would fit.
Well when it showed I knew it was way to big. so Its on the bench.

No the Artes will fit, and I did the same thing that you did, I compaired the diameter of those turbines, and Bought the Falcon 100 because of power
for the $$$ spent. and I liked the warrenty. But is is Much Heavier and way to much power. So I dicided to go with a P-70 Because I still wanted at least 17 lbs of thrust.
Also Believe that if you do use the Artes Falcon , You will need a larger Diameter tail pipe.
The Jet Legend F-16 is a Small Jet by todays standard. Another consideration Is that extra weight on that scale landing gear. It has built in dampning and You don't want it smashed all the way down while just sitting still.

Thanks. I'm considering a JL F-16. Sounds like my Wren 54 might be a better choice than my Falcon. The Wren engine weighs about 2 lbs. and the Falcon about 3 lbs. Depending on what you have to do to balance it a pound one way or another shouldn't break it.
By the way what is the tailpipe diameter, at the inlet and at the exit?
Thanks,
Joe

Just dooing away with all of the seams. I wanted the hatch, and canopy and Gear doors to fit flawlessly.
I had no way of knowing how well things fit when I ordered ths kit, But It didn't matter Because I Knew that I could make it fit like I wanted it to.
Trust me It will be Nice when it is done. Oh the real reason : I hang out with a guy that is Totally Obsessed with PROFECTION, and He has already Hinted that it also needed to be flawless inside.
Tom Cook of Jet model Products..... Wait till you see his Dauntless...

Let Legands???
***?
Is this a new company? Sounds like it's from France.
Now I thought surely it was just two terrible typos in the thread's title, but sure enough, right in the first sentence of the first post, there it is again...let Legands.
Wow.
Did we mean Jet Legends?
