Default Smallest Gasoline engine available??

Is there anything available in gasoline engines smaller than the Zenoah 20cc? Doesnt need to be a hot rod engine just a nice reliable mill.

Thanks!!
Ryan

14cc echo.Not really a lot of power and probably not worth the trouble but it could be run on gas/glow and might not be bad but youll have to convert it.I had a 16cc but sold it.I do have a 14cc sitting here.Ill have to take a pic of it.later.

I found this on there web site. Price is high but it looks to be just what I am looking for.

Whats your opinion of BME? Quality engines?

Hi Buck,

Please do post the pics. I have a Homie 16cc that has a cantilevered crank that was supported on the end by the mechanism to which it was mounted. (Hedgetrimmer) If I use it I will have to build a new crankcase for it as there is only one bearing supporting the crank since I took it out of the trimmer and one ain't enough. What did the 14cc echo's come on?

The poulan / weedeater brand featherweight is the best for weight and can range in size from 18cc to 25 with little or no difference in weight.
They look like the first two pics before conversion and the last one after.

Heres a pic of the 14cc echo.It comes from the 140AD,DA,weedies.The remote is from my dish.The one on the right weighs 1-1/2 lbs right now but could lose just a little more but not a lot to really mess with.Check out the thread[14cc echo-x-2=28cc echo twin/video/pics]in the engine conversions.While your there do a search on the 14cc or 16cc.av8tor,tim00225,and a couple others had theres converted and ran them but i dont quite remember what they where on or performance.I think one of them had theres on a 60 size and said it flew pretty good.Ive just rebuilt an A&M sachs 3.2,all up weight RTF with muffler,ign,prop hub only weighs a few ozs over 4lbs.Big diff from a 14cc to a 52cc,with only 2 lbs diff.But i convert them and use them because i get them for free or for very little.Indiana is right ,i converted a couple of poulans and theres a thread going about a poulan 16cc in the conversions right now.I was always breaking the springs that hold the muffler on though.I stick with echos and stihls now.

FPE 1.3 is a 21cc engine.Claims 16x8=7400.
weight-43.2 oz including muffler and ign.
10lbs thrust @ 7400
rpm-2000-7400
rec prop===16x8
price.449.95
my 24cc echo that i built-BNIB short block,ken lambert muffler,rcexl cdi,carb,RTF weight with evrything on the[ FPE1.3]mines 48 ozs.===$229.00[about].
same performance.I had mine on a 1/4 scale GP giles [email protected] lbs.flew it sport like.Not very good vertical so isold the plane.The FPE comes from the Husqvarna weedie motor as i was told and it looks like one also when i looked at a husky weedie.Ive been thinking about converting thse but husky wants to much[even for parts].

A 16x8 @ 7400 rpm is about 10 lbs thrust, and about 1,3 hp.

But for this weight (43 oz) you can buy a ZDZ 40 RE F3A. It will pull a 20x12 at 7000+ rpm, 25 lbs static thrust, and more than 4 hp. A 22x8 would give even higher thrust, but lower speed.
Many options.

The BME .90 is a great runing little engine. A lot smaller than the engines these fellows are talking about. I think it has more power than the nitro version.

Thanks for the info. I am planning on getting one unless I find something else that size.
