Default 26" Boat choices?

Hey everyone. I'm looking to get a 26" or around that size, brushless boat. I like the ProBoat Blackjack 26, and the Formula FASTech by ProBoat, also. I have heard some negative things about the U-joint on both of these boats, though. I was wondering what everyone's thoughts on these two boats was, as well as suggestions for other boats that are brushless and around the same size! Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the Fastech doesn't have the u-joint, but nontheless not the best choice JMO. The best 26" hull you will find artr is the Prince http://kintecracing.com/Prince_Upgrades.html handles on rails and is a copy of a well know Delta Force hull. I have a BJ26, fun little hull but takes some work and extra $$$ to get it running correct. The best out of the box RTR at this time is the Miss Geico. All depends what you really want.

I've seen the miss Geico, and it is definitely bad *****. What about the Blackjack? Other than the U-Joint? My dad and i will probably modify it with an offset rudder once it breaks

It handles like *****... lol...

It just takes a lot of work to get the BJ to handle correctly. Ihave a Fullers outdrive on mine, which is like $100 set of hardware. Here's a thread that will help you if you chose the go that routehttp://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ead.php?t=3044. The build quality is also sub-par compared to the Miss Geico. This Miss Geico is the best built RTR that I have personally owned. Don't get me wrong Ido love my BJ I have ownd 2 of them, just the Miss Geico is far superior. Ibought both my BJ's used from craigslist. One was fully stock which I was going to do twins on but sold it, the one pictures now is the second 1 Ibought used. All 3 proboat boats use the same motor/esc by the way.

Here's some pics of my BJ as well as MG and others: http://s1238.photobucket.com/albums/...ats/?start=all
Here's the Hardware Ihave: http://cgi.ebay.com/Fullers-MONO-Boa...item1c070643bf

No vid of my BJ, but here is my MG vid www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsZmdN6FsIs

Wow what a collection. I love the Monster-themed paint schemes. And I LOVE the Blackjack's color scheme! What all did you have to do to make it drive decent? And my dad said that we might try the Miss Geico's outdrive on the blackjack once the u-joint breaks.

Thanks

Read the thread on handling I sent you. Everything you need should be in their. The hull is kinda top heavy, removing the battery trays and laying velcro down in the sponsons helps, some say loose the turn fins other say keep them. I will say this is the only cat I know with turnfins. The hull you seen in my pics does have the battery trays in though, but I am making it a straight line hull don't need to turn with much speed, dumping the steerable outdrive is the best thing you can do. Steve sells a nice outdrive package with everything you will needhttp://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80085are you gonna buy new? If so hold off for a little bit because Horizon/Proboat are re-releasing must of their older hull's with new 2.4ghz radio's. I'm surprised the blackjack hasn't popped up yet. They have the Miss Elam, Fastech and Apache all re-releasing with 2.4ghz.

Alright. What do you recommend? the fins or not? I want it to be able to handle a little rougher waters than it does now.

The 26" Prince, Head of The River, etc. are awesome boats. I have one and it handles and runs pretty fast. I have been contemplating letting it go to upgrade to a larger hull (32") pm if any interest.

Right now my little 26" is upto almost 38 MPH. I am going to try a better motor and I think I will see it into the high 40's.

You can usually find the hulls on E bay to DIY. Steve @ OSE has REAL Delta Force hulls and you can probably get that to your door cheaper than the E Bay route.

If you want the thing fully assembled then go the E bay route/Head of the River. Just beware that fully assembled here means you will have to tear it down and reassemble it to ensure its all proper.

I think Diesel posted about kintec. I believe they do all of this legwork for you- however it comes at a cost. They also upgrade a few things I believe too.

I would also recomend the prince. fantastic boat, with great handling. I have had mine for some time now
and have tried playing around with diffrent motors and esc,s.
Am currently running it on 4s, with the ul-1 36mm 6pole aquacraft motor, and swordfish 120amp esc, and
a 48mm c/f prop. . . . . now reaching speeds of around 48mph, (47.7 to be exact) not sure how much more
this hull will handle, am trying to break the 50mph barrier with it, hopefully i will on my next run, temps seem
to be good to, even with the 48mm.

I don't have the prince, I have a H&M no step 2 with ul1 power which is similar in size to the prince. The Germans sure do know how to make quality hulls. I have owned 2 H&M hulls and they both impressed me so so much. Here's a video of my 23" h&M no step 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibBA7YHXjTI I havent had the no step 2 in the water yet. I do own the bigger brother of the prince which is the Pursuit. I will say it is a AMAZING handling hull. No vid on that yet.

As for turn fins on the BJ, I will taking mine off and feeling in the holes with epoxy. Just haven't got around to that yet. I haven't even ran it with the new outrunner in it yet. My goal for this hull is FAST FAST FAST... SAW style runs with it. Just a few 2-4 high speed speed straight line passes. I have other hull for sport running ect,,,

Yes I that is very true and I must say I think that hull is very sexy and Jan at Kintec is a great guy to deal with. I would use a ammo 3650 2300 motor on say a x437 or a x440 prop and watch that thing go or get really crazy and slap ul1 power in it.... Even though I have a 26" mono and my H&M2 has a flood chamber, I still may get the Prince because of their looks. That damn Pursuit 32 is a BEAST as well. I have a Seaking 180 in it and a Leopard 4074 2200kv with one sick highly modded x447 prop and it runs on railsregardlessof water conditions. great handling hulls!

Going to run this stinger [link]http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130304738980&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT[/link]

This drive gear [link]http://cgi.ebay.com/3-16-X-19-cable-shaft-drive-dog-prop-nut-rc-boat-/140328071511?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20ac347157[/link]

I'm going to steal the rudder and turn fins from my Widowmaker, which I have given up on.

I'm making my own motor mount and using this motor [link]http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=6527[/link] with a 60A ESC on ether 2 or 3S.

Considering I already have the motor, ESC, ruder, and turn fins I'll be building this boat for $147.50 shipped to my door[8D]

Im not keen on the color, but its cheap:
http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=21217

That hull you linked to and this hull I linked to are the same I think.

The V is much deeper on those boats than the Prince boat.

This hull is from the same seller. I have been looking at transfering my hardware and
electrics from my sv27 to a better hull, anyone think this may be an option?

Yes that is a knockoff of a Delta force 29 hull offered by Promise Hobbies. Would be a nice upgrade over the Sv and the sv hardware and even power would run nicely in this hull.
