Default What to do with this ESC?

I accidentally bought thishttp://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300562094339&s sPageName=ADME:L:OC:CA:1123

It's a DuraTrax IntelliSpeed 12T. I hope it works.

Do you think it will work on my stock Villain IV? It is running the stock duel brushed 540's (6 cell/2s) Or should I just put it in my stock Stampede?<br type="_moz" />

That's rated quite high. If specs are correct it should work. Check temps constantly for the first bit. Only 2s LiPo though.

yeah, 232 amps continuos is really good.  I wonder if I can get away with some half @$$ cooling for it though.<div>
</div><div>I had a proboat marine ESC and added my own water cooling (built a water jacket on 1 side with silicon &amp; plastic) but it still smoked on me.  Didn't over heat, just went poof!  I may try something similar with this one.</div>

Smoke suggests a component has overheated.

ESC's that are filled with hard epoxy type case don't benefit from water cooling all that well. An ESC with visible heat sinks will conduct heat at a level you can measure. This may be the difference in your previous experience?

(less then 2 seconds running) Something inside gave up!<div></div><div>Anyhow, the ESC came in today. I gave it a quick check and it works, so thats a plus!</div><div></div><div>I am going to fit it into the Villain IV and just leave it air cooled for now. Maybe I might butt it up against a plate with some water running through it. Not sure yet. I'll have to rig something up. I want to put a brushless system into the villain and will put this controller into my Stampede down the road.</div></div><br type="_moz" />
