hi! what is the ideal weight for a small boat, about 20" x 8"?
i have tested my scratchbuild boat yesteday and i was disappointed by the performance of it. it is a jet drive with a 540 size motor. it won't get up on plane. my initial thought was that its a bit heavy. and maybe my boat design wasnt the best thats why it wont plane.
thanks!

Hi Ernest,

Could you post some pics of your boat?

I'd love to see what it looks like.

My 20" monohull with a 600 motor and 7 cells weighs 1115 grams.

Hope it helps.

Regards, Jan.

i will jan, i just forget the file at home, im at work now.
well mine weighs about 1300grams i guess its not as bad as i thought. though i only have 6 cells on it. i guess its a combination of low power and not so good design.

i dont know how to help you but im building a jet boat on a swamp buggy hull (flat bottom and very wide) im going to but in 2 jets with maybe 340 motors and ill tell you how the flat bottom works if your interested. im kinda worried the jet stream wont have enough to push on, i might have to vector the thrust down with a fin or something.
