I am absolutly fed up with my bladerunner[:@][:@]. Just over the weekend i fried my 3rd motor. The motor was a hand wound 550 car motor running on 8 cells, spinning a prather prop, which it ran quite nicely on up untill this weekend. I have an rc hydros esc, brand knew that is working fine, and the motor was water cooled. I am now thinking of gutting the hull, replacing the horrible steerable outdrive and dropping in a 700bb on 16 cells and reinforcing it to take the power. My questions are:
1. IS the hull even worth the effort of rebuilding or should i buy a another hull?
2. Are 16 cells to much for this hull?
3. If i should get another hull, please list any suggestions that would work well with a 16 cell setup and a 700 motor. I do not want to spend a fortune on a new hull.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Check out www.offshoreelectrics.com
If 'm not mistaken, there's info to be found about the Bladerunner and how problematic this hull is to get fast, it can be done, but takes a lot of effort. I don't envy you.
Also take a look at the ToysPort hulls on that site, the smaller one runs fine on 12-16 cells and a 700 motor, with room for future speed improvement, using a better (brushed or brushless) motor.
Regards, Jan.

If i decide to get another hull, i was thinking about either a BBY oval master 26 or a BBY scat cat 26 with a 700bb on 16 cells?
If I go this route, which hull would be the fastest/give the best performance?
Thanks in advance.

The cat will be the fastest, but needs reasonably flat water, a monohull Vee performs much better in chop, but is a bit slower.
It all boils down to where you want to run the boat.

dude if yur having problen with your blade runner your not alone mine sucks i went throught 2 motor and when i got mine the prpshaft conecter was drilled rong so it vibrated to the bottom of the lake [sm=drowning.gif] now i have a dolfin2 outboard on it with a 17 turn motor and it runs like new u need to modify the hatch at the back so it will acomodate the motor and remove the cowel of the outboard and i used 12 cells
