1bad...It's simple The IB3800s & 4200wc suffer from soft shorting and other failures.
What do you mean by that?

Hey, look at it this way....you broke 38. That's an achievement.
Try some 2 part mix foam for the hatch or the foam in a can.

Ryan softshorting is an internal short in the cell. I was set to buy about 350 bucks worth of packs a while back. I was advised by the vendors that they where not the cells to run for sport boating. Now when you are going to spend that kind of cash and the seller sends you in a diffrent direction...well comen sence should tell you why.

I just revived one of the cells in my transmitter pack. Zapped it with 2 12v PB's. It now holds a charge instead of reading 0.000v. I tried it on another pack and melted the cell.

Yesterday I reseated my motor water jacket using a little vasoline jelly and pushed on the jacket from the inlet/outlet areas toward the bottom of the motor hoping to get a better seal. I use a squeeze bulb full of water to test the system under pressure. I was getting a leak underneath the jacket between the inlet/outlet. I also reinstalled the Traxxas pickup tube higher using silicone. The pickup tube came loose so I scruffed up the rear of the pickup tube and the location on the transom using a fiberglass scratch brush. I still get good water flow under all contitions. I have attached a picture of the stern. Today I ran through two sets of batteries and absolutely NO leaks. NaDa, Not one drop.

Time to get the Bushnell Doppler radar gun out.
Prop is the M-445.

Nice rear......prop that is. X445?
Sometimes the stock water jacket can be a bit of a hastle. The can has to be clean. I just had to push on it with pressure around the can to make sure the veins/guides/channels inside are seated. Having the water pickup closer to the prop wash area might even be a good thing. But these things are so minute, it may not even matter. When you clock her, that'll be all you need.

The CF45 might launch slightly better compared to the M445 because the CF45 has the tongue part of the prop where as the M445 is detoungued. This enables the CF45 to bite much better at the lower rpm band, however, the M445 has about a 3-4mph top end gain.
That's what I'm talking about.

When I firts got into modern boats I was unimpressed with people talkin bout 2,3 and 4mph gains. Now that I have run my boats... I look @ it way diffrently.

I don't care if the M445 is bigger, greater, prettier, faster, awsome out of the hole, top end dancer. Just don't call me a "Putz".
