RE: SV27 Water Cooling
The best motor cooling one can have is a total length cooling jacket , not those blue translucent excuse for a water jacket like those OSE ( Graupner/Gundert really ). And certainly not the aluminum spiral.
As you can see in the pictures those are really easy to make yourself with a inner bike tire tube and a piece of bras plate.
Making a cooling tube that picks up the spray is also very effective and causes zero drag or speed loss.

Is the spray pick up for the link you sent me behind the prop?

Then what do i do with my rudder? Beacuse the tube runs into the rudder and into the water? Sould i jus disconect it? or add a j pipe? Or Get a new rudder?

Why would you split the pipe? Just get some brass tubing and run it into the hull. Connect your water line to it, make the bend so that prop spray hits it. A transom mount will work just fine also.

RE: SV27 Water Cooling
IMO there is no need for extra cooling unless your running props over 43mm. I would suggest you make sure the excess flashing is cleared from the stock jacket or get the OSE cooling jacket.
I run the OSE cooling jacket on both my SV's...I replaced the factory tubes in the OSE jacket with bigger ID aluminum tubing. I run really hard and rarely see temps above 115 on motor, rarely above 100 on ESC...unless I run a 45mm prop or bigger.
Honestly, the performance gains don't outweigh the reliability of the system gains if the prop is kept smaller than 45mm..IMO.

This is a sport boat. making left hand turns results in no water through the system. Making low speed passes also results in no water through the system.

to be clear, I have opened the hole on the rudder a bit and I use slightly bigger ID tubing.

Kool, just disconnect the rudder tube and run the j-pipe by itself. No reason to make a split. Or you could make it easy, and order a transom mount water pick up from towerhobbies. It provides more than adequate water cooling.

RE: SV27 Water Cooling
I have SV27 and now iĀ“m about to run it with 14 cells after modificating my old batterys. I run it today first time with my friends 14 and notice that the motor is getting much hotter then with 12 cells. I couldnĀ“t hold my hand on it
What do you think about putting this robbe 1-1451 cooling to my sv? would it be cooler?
This is what i could get easily from Finland...

RE: SV27 Water Cooling
Aluminum coils do work and are better than none. Check out my $1.19 water cooling coil. I formed it by wrapping 36' x 3/16" aluminum tubing around 1 1/8" Craftsmen deep well socket (sockets exterior measured 1.5"). It fits nice and snuggly around the Neu 1515 1y motor. The socket measured .050 smaller diameter than my Neu 1515 1y motor
Here's how it is done: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/inf...sh-cooling.php
FYI the motor temps of my Traxxas VXL Rustler with stock brushless motor always hoover slightly higher than 200 degrees and it is still going strong without any type of cooling.
