i would gto with twin 540 motors (you probably need to upgrade the esc too....try using the motors and esc setup like useed in the traxxxas villain.....does your boat use "vector steering"? if so, trash that....that steering system doesent work as well as the good ol fashoin rudder and strut combo..

go to www.offshoreelectrics.com they have the motors and esc for the traxxas villan (youll probably need to get new batts too) and also carry some rudders you can use...

if you just looking to upgrade the motors and nothin else, sorry to say, but the stock esc (if its anything similar to the one i had in a different boat, but with the same setup) wont even handle an upgraded battery, let alone higher powered motors...

could you get some pics ofthe inside of the boat? and some of the transom...i still dont know if this setup uses vector steering, so that would help...

I'm about 90% sure it does, the models of this boat I found with google all used vector steering. There's even a warning not to use it longer than 15 minutes at a time.

In order to do it right you would need to get rid of most of you components. You would need to install a new radio system, ESC, motors, rudder system.

Do you really want to bury this kind of money? A better route to take is buying a hobby grade boat with standard upgradeable electronics.

no smoke but youll see a power increase due to the increased discharge capabilities of the battery.. some lesser packs just cant put out what the motors and esc's need to really give it the full potential 3300+ would be my recommendation

HI ...Thanks ..

Ok ..correct me if I'm wrong here , from what is said I understand that as long as you keep the voltage the same eg 7.2 volts the actual mah's can go up to what ever there maybe eg 3300 or more is this correct
please let me know if I', on the right track
thanks

ya MAH = time nothing more.. BUT better cells = more power output capable.. in Amps so take that into account buy a GOOD quality pack with a good mah 3300+ id suggest GP cells or IB

actually, you probably will see smoke, my nqd (has the same setup as yours) smoked w/ the origional battery, then i upgraded to a 3600mah vanom pack...it went a lot faster, but i could only run it for about a minute or so before i would need to bring it in and check for smoke...and it sure smoked....

I change the 380s to 400s with a xL-10marine esc and added a working rudder. slap on a 7 cell battery and not even my ep hammer could keep up.
