Okay... Whatever you say man.

The physics of buoyancy and displacement still apply. That puny piece of spray foam in the bow (ALONE) is not enough to keep the boat afloat when full of water.

To tell someone...

By the way, these boats do not sink

Ryan
Is just BAD ADVICE.
So let's keep it simple... You say "these boats do not sink"
Fill it with water, and see if it does? If it floats full of water, I'll stand corrected.

Ive had both happen... Ive had enough air in mine to the point where theres only a inch of the nose out of the water and theres been other times that air has gotten out and just sunk. Next time I have everything out of my boat ill experiment with it.

How is that even advice I've given. One said his boat sank. I told him they don't, they have foam that is installed at the factory. He replied stating, he doesn't even have foam in his boat. End of discussion.

Grim himself said these boats DO not sink, they have foam in them. But what do I know, I haven't physically filled up mine with water and tried to sink it to the bottom of my lake?

In your own words...
ORIGINAL: ryan_t888

All boat must have foam inserts somewhere in the hull whether it is electric or nitro. The electric sv I have here does have a decent amount of foam installed in the front. If yours was nearly sinking because you didn't tape your hatch shut add more foam immediately. Don't rely on 1 method of safety.

Go to the SV thread and browse the photos. You will notice no photos in there with any other form of extra floatation. First form of safety is hatch tape. USE it! If that fails the foam in the hull will save you as it has done to me and several others.

My point was I never said to anybody in this thread, do not place floatation in to your hull because it has enough. This seems to be what you are trying to tell me, as if I'm telling people "bad avdice."

Fact is, you must of have missed part of this thread. The boat alrady sank, now we need to figure out why? Looks like we have a few posts back.

These boats come stock with a big chunk of foam in the front. They don't sink.

That's unusual, I've never heard of that before.

Ryan
I find this quite interesting

It could have been left out. I've heard of boat arriving without props.

You are obviously under the false pretense that a tiny piece of spray foam is saving your boat from sinking when in actuality, it's the air pocket in the bow. I said "prove" to me that it's the foam and NOT the air. eliminate the air (flood your hull) then see if that crappy piece of spray foam will save you like you think. You'll be surprised what happens when you remove the air.

..the ammo motor is a better motor period..
In my experience the Ammo gets hotter than the stock motor, and also heats the stock ESC up more than the stock motor on the same prop/same batteries. The Ammo is much faster, but I regularly prop down to a 437/3 for heat/longevity and still get low to mid 40's.
one thing I like about the Ammo compared to the stock motor is that it isn't coggy - it spins free and smooth like a Feigao. This is helpful when you have to cut throttle instantly (i.e. when a boat flips in your path), as the stock motor freezes the prop and can cause your boat to roll over when slowing.
I run a barracuda 125 ESC with the Ammo.

I was Refered to those a few times by some friends. Supposely those have better ball bearings and what not in them and just "better quality". Havnt heard of them before though.

excellent motor, just more expensive than the Ammo, but not by much.
