Hello everyone,
I had a castle hydra 120 esc and like everyone says, it's a piece of junk[:'(]
It easily burned out in only a minute or two at full throttle(it's built to be at full throttle)
So does anyone know a good esc brand for racing?(don't worry about amps or turns right now)

Your post makes little sense, The number of turns in a brushless motor has no effect on the ESC, furthermore your statement "like everyone says, it's a piece of junk" Is false, if the ESC was setup correctly and ran under spec loads it would not go up in smoke(unless it was defective to start with, in theat case Castle will replace it for free), Castle spends more time and money developing ESC's then ANY other company, if you want to try something better..there is none, if you want the next step down then try a Hacker/Jeti ESC, OEM RC also makes a decent esc.

I had a Hydra 120 stop working on me too. It turns out they had a bad batch of fets in the 120 ESC's. They are fixing it under warranty so that is good. It's going to take 4-5 weeks to repair it so that's bad for something I paid $200.00 for. Either they have an under staffed repair department or they have a high failure rate with their products but they need to do something to shorten their repair time. Hacker would be a good choice.

Dude. this isnt the place to bash a product! castle is the best , I have hydra 240's and hydra 120's and love them work flawlessly. You have to know how to set up a boat. Which you obviously don't!.
I will also be buying the HV hydra's once they come out and as usual they will be great quality.

sweeeeeeeetttttttttt, i didnt know they were comin out with new hydra's what are the spec's or where is the information.
BTW dude, you were drawing too many amps because of too big motor or prop or st. or you could have run too many cells(unlikely unless you didnt read anything about them)
