I currently am running a stock Vee with a 550 motor and 3:1 gear drive with Jeti Navy speed control on 12 cells.The prop is 48mm-if I put in a 700 motor direct drive will the prop be too big?I'm still going to use the stock outdrive setup because I'm too cheap to spring for better hardware.

A 700 motor typically runs a 40-45mm prop.

Thank you for the reply-I thought I would need a smaller prop to keep amp draw down.

Hi there

try to use 39 - 41 ( 42 ) mm diameter prop.

Such diameters are being used with this motor.
