Supervee 7L and Hydra 120 on 4s 4000 Mah
I have a supervee with a 7l motor and a hydra 120 with a couple of batteries. I have a coupke of packs. Two 2s 4000 mah packs, and Two 3s 4000 mah packs.. Which way should I run them in this boat? 2s 2p 4s total or 1 3s and 1 2s for 5s total or 2 3s packs for 6s total. What can this speed control take? And what could I do to run 2 3s packs.

at 120 amps, I would keep putting battery's in parallel just due to the motors ability to suck back the juice. Saves your packs. On top of that start with a certain prop size and keep enlarging it until your find a speed that you like. As you enlarge the prop, the motor will draw more amps to try and keep the prop spinning at that speed determined by the voltage and you will go faster.
I would recommend the avg of 14.8v(most people run their boats on) so combine them to keep that as a goal.

The 7L isn't really a good motor if you plan on going fast. You are limited to running only 2 cell LiPo for continuous running. Any more and something will puff. Running 2s2p on an X640 will get you nearing 40mph.
Many people don't understand. You don't match different cell counts with a specific motor wind. First pick the amount of cells you plan on running, then pick a wind to best run with that cell count.

Take a look at this site:

It will help to explain the "S" and "P" thing.
