RE: Batteries for Zig Zag
I think I still have one of those chargers. Too bad you didn't live closer, I'd give it to you.
That charger won't charge anything but NiCd cells, so the IB's are out. What is the Amp hr. rating on the stock packs? 900mAh?
I'd have to check to be sure I still have it, but if you want that charger, PM me. Maybe just pay shipping and it's yours.

RE: Batteries for Zig Zag
Here's an example of a pack from cheapbatterypacks.com It is a NiMh pack.

You can go through and change anything you want and they will put them together for you. Good packs at a good price.
Link didn't go to the pack I built up for you. What you need to know is that they are a 2/3 A cell. 16 AWG wire should be sufficient.

RE: Batteries for Zig Zag
For more run time, you'll want more mAh. You say the stock packs are 1000mAh. So, go with something bigger. Go too big and the physical size of the cell gets bigger. 1500mAh is about the max you get with these little cells.
For higher speeds, add a cell. My brother runs 7 cell packs in his ZigZag. Although they don't fit in the hull as nice, they give more power and little more speed. I put an upgraded prop on his Zag also. It is very fast, but needs pretty smooth water to stay up. It wants to catch air off the waves and then the torque of the motor will turn the boat on it's side in the air.

Get hold of Steve over at www.offshoreelectrics.com as he has a hot battery pack for the ZZR's. Also in there is a video of it with the hotter pack. You can ask him if you need another charger or not.
