This week end i put the bottom and started the top!
I get the carbon fiber tube as well, the only difference is that its 8mm.
Lets see how it goes with it!

8mm will be fine, building is the best part of the hobbywell for me anyway! Keep posting progress pictures, mines in the rigging stage still (been lazy) but do have the hardware mounted, battery tray is being sealed as i type, servo mount is in the process, stuffing tube is mounted, motor mounted, still lots to do though (little stuff) ill get a picture up soon

They are nice little units for the price.... if ya put a nylon bolt in the bottom hole it will give if you hit something without doing damage to the hull.

I am using the same rudder on mine.The servo is mounted on it's side with servo tape.The brass screw in the rudder bracket is supposed to shear if you hit something but a nylon screw would be better.[8D]

brass will do the job but at the speeds your going it wont have enough force to over come the brass.
pull it out and tighten up the top screw tight and leave it

I just glue the carbon rods and finish the left sponson!
I'm starting to get prep to the other one! How do you guys made the fin?

well it will be easier to drill your pilot holes for the spar before you glue the sponson to the boom tube. hope this is the answer you were looking for.

For the spar will it be ok to make it in 3mm aluminium? What kind of bolts shall i use?
Where can i get the motor from? The one you told me.

I've started the assembly of the right sponson!
As i did in the left one, first glued the inside and the top of the sponson.
