Default RE: HELP!!!

when you say finish it is batterie needed and need choose placement of that

but i would say before you do anything to it is check over the whole boat first

looks like you going to need radio gear and batteries that is pretty straight forward

If you were to get this boat I would recommend two 2s lipo packs (or a parallel of two 4s packs of 4200) and this radio system:

My only big concern is whether the esc has a bec or not.

That: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...ies%26_fvi%3D1
is the well known 25" mono that has been on almost every forum, you should be able to find a lot of info on it.

In order to run it, you'll need batteries and a radio set.
Mail the vendor and ask if the ESC has BEC; if not, buy a UBEC with the boat, more convenient than a seperate receiver pack, IMHO.

Regards, Jan.

Thats the same boat some of us have.

We have found that motor to be useless. I think theres 4-5 of us and nobody is running that motor anymore...

I ran mine with 60 Amp esc and 3S lipo. Running just a single 20C pack wasnt good...

The Run:

The death:

beware of foul language...

Its a good boat but that motor is just to small for it, thats the bottom line. For $120 its a good buy. I would sell the ESC off for about $45 and the Motor for $15-20 and then you got a prebuilt boat minus electronics.

Thats why I bought it also. I wasnt sure how to set the boat up and didnt want to risk messing a hull up.

Im pretty new myself.

Its a good boat to start with if you want to do some work, which it sounds like you do.

Like I said the motor/ESC is just to small for the boat. it might work with a smaller prop around 64-36MM, but if you go for a bigger one like I did (42mm dia) it will kill that motor.

If you look at the Prince thread you will see the different setups.

One guy has a 36mm dia motor, runs 4S and seems happy with it.

I have a 28mm dia motor run 3S and I think its plenty fast.

besides the ESC is there any differance betwen the the boat from r2hobbies, and the boat on ebay # 290252484982? the one from r2 looks like it has some sort wood mounting plate in back and for the batteries in the middle part of the hull but does not have the ESC, and the ebay boat has the ESC but I can not determin wether or not the boat has those mounting plates or am i talking nonsense and i can buy those at a hobby shop? thank you. thank you.

Your seeing the different setups.

R2Hobbies boat uses the stinger type drive and has wood stringers run in it.

The Head Of the River Boat uses a strut and has seperate mounting of motor, servo and battery.

Personally I went with the R2 Hobbies boat as I wanted the stinger drive and I liked the stringers and mounting locations.
