Can anyone tell me the best brands of batts. to run in a sv ? venom, ib 4200, duratrax, shark?? Also is it worth replacing the stock prop -mine has a chip in it - with another one or go into the stell ones -just running in small ponds - need one that will plane out quick.
thanks

Everything you ever wanted to know about your boat. Happy reading.

Short answers: Venom- no IB's are good nimh but everyone is transitioning to Lipos Hobby city is providing excelent prices on lipos, but there is some additional investment if you convert. (balancers, lipo shield (protects your bats from being drawn too low as the SV's esc wasn't really intended for Lipos. Yes it's worth replacing the stock prop, especially if it chipped. If you go metal (I recommend Berilium/Copper, but you have to learn to balance them) Metal geta octura 440/3 (like your stock) and a x642. You can also get a Guapner CF45 (carbin filled plastic). Short term that's your best bet as it's ready when you get it. This will be pleanty fast and plane instantly. They're cheap enough you can order 3 if you are prone to metting them up. I'm still on my first one and run it frequently even though I have a slew of metal props.

C-water,
Stinger9d9 has some experience with the 2300 in the SV and could suggest props. Think one of the grim props is really working well. There's a thread.

Don't try it with lipo packs though, you will run into the problem I had...too much power, not enough weight. The boat can literally do a back flip from a dead stop...funny at first, but not very driveable.
Check the video - this is the Ammo 2300 with the Grimracer 40 x 52 3 blade prop and 2 PolyRC 7.4 volt packs. Like I said...you don't want it this fast...
