Default RE: Catamaran single or twin drives?

I'm thinking 4 5s 5000mah packs

Yes, that's 10s 10,000mah per motor..
not sure of the run time on that, could be decent

4 packs of 5S 5000mah packs is only the same as 2 packs of 10S 5000mah packs

It's to hard to tell the run time with 10s 10,000mah of power..
most races do not last long, and be sure to time your runs and check how many mah you put back in your packs..

Yeah just trying to setup a project. Heat races in my area for offshore is 6 laps. I want to build an HPR 135 that's 53" long with twin Neu Motors. This setup in some german guys boat got 126mph. If I could at least average over 90mph should be hard to beat. I figure I'd run the Hydra 240HV's and XPS 5s 5000mah 30C Lipos, 2 packs running in series per motor. Here's a site for ideas.

And this is the site for the motors,

Those guys spend some coin!
90mph would mostly be crazy fast in a heat race.. If you were getting 60s I bet you would stay ahead of the pack

Sorry to thread jack. But an HPR 135 with twin Big Neu Motors, Hydra 240HV's, and 10s Lipos, will have short run times? Not enough to heat race?
you dont need Neu 2215 for Hpr135, all you need is 1527, you will not run faster with 2215s since its just bigger but power is similar with 1527 plus the kv is not match, 2215 will run much cooler than 1527 also will draw much more amp than 1527, BUT on my Hpr07 (hpr135) even i swing it on 12s (36,000rpm without load) after more than 3 mins of 85mph+ both motor end up with less than 130 degrees.
btw, if you have extra cash, you can do twin 2215 1.5y 10xx kv on 10s4p (2p on each side) then you will be ok, but.... end up your boat will be really close to 30lbs =), but maybe that even more stable, who know, but in this case, i dont trust Hydra HV anymore, go for Schulze 40160.

Depends on how fast he wants to run...

Default RE: Catamaran single or twin drives?

I have been in this postion a few times so I know the questions to ask.

Do I want run time or speed..........chose 1
Oval or SAW..........can be adjusted but best to chose 1
Records or fun.................chose 1

From here the flow-chart begins.

FWIW I am a fun runner only and will do twins in a small hull soon.

I read a lot

Thanks for the Info. So ur running 1527's on 12s.
4 6s1p 5000mah 30C at 26.2 oz will do right? That's 104.8oz's of battery alone. (6.55 lbs)
What's ur run time on your setup?
With the 1527's on 12s, do you think I'll break the 100mph mark?
Thanks once again for the Info.

No, I wouldn't push them that hard.

Anything above 100mph consider as SAW run, you dont want to run more than 2-3 past with 100mph setup, and yes you can do that with 1527 on 12s with more prop, my boat weight 25lbs rtr, very stable and over 3 mins running (limit by lipo mah). you will have way less running time with 2215 but not faster
