Default multiple motor setup and wiring

Hey Guys,

Can someone take a few short minutes and explain to me how to simply hook up 2 motors for one system? I have always worked with one model, one motor... however I'd like to know the wiring behind having two motors run together. Do you need multiple ESC's??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of motor?, you cant run two brushless off of one esc, the esc and the motor "talk" to one another for optimum performance. Brushed is another story, Traxxas makes the EVX2 (actually i believe they are built by Novak), which i have three of, and they run two motors with up to 14 cells. i also have an older Novak 12 cell, these esc's work just fine as far as im concerned. You can get a new EVX2 on ebay for around $60-$80.

Hey guys I was wondering If it was possible to wire 3 Motor esc combos into three different channels so that they could be controled separatly on my transmitter.<div>

Rebuilder- I know this is to be true (Emi back talk for timing of motor from esc) however I have run two Edfs on one esc no problems!<div>
</div><div>But yes it is generally accepted an esc for each brushless motor.</div><div>
</div><div>How many batteries are you planning on using? It's not difficult so tell us what you want and it can probably be done!</div>

Good idea to look at the dates of these threads, they haven't been active for a while.

Depends on what your goals are and which Tx you would be using.

Yes u can, say if u were using the traxxas 4ch/5ch with switch mod controller u could use..
ch1 steering
ch2 throttle
ch3 selects 1st ESC & motor
ch4 selects 2nd ESC & motor
ch5 selects 3rd ESC & motor

this way u can run all of them at once, 2 at once, or just 1

or

ch1 steering
ch2 throttle
ch3 selects either 1st ESC & motor or 2nd ESC & motor
ch4 selects 3rd esc & motor
ch5 spare

This way u could run only 2 at once but not 1st & 2nd at the same time, only 1st & 3rd or 2nd & 3rd.

All u would do is use a electronic switch to interupt the throttle signal wire from the reciver.

There are heaps of variations of this to, there are simple on/off switches or there are switching switches that have 2 inputs/outputs.
