This is what I have done so far, I just picked up my last part today and am ready to do a dry fit of everything. I have all the wood sealed with thinned epoxy inside and out. My set up is Feigao 540 10s, Seaking 90a ESC (been having problems with the lipo cut off so ordered a Novak smart stop), 3s 3300 mah 25c lipo, Proboat 31mm prop. I hope the first run goes really well. Any comments you have or anything I should change just leave a post.
Thanks, Chris

Thats about 45,000 rpm [X(] !!! whoa... just check temps often on first run. Do you have any 2S packs to try first???
Those are SAW rpms...
31mm prop is good for the hull but, 45000 rpm... ??? no idea... might snap on you if it's plastic...
Bring fishing rod with a tennis ball for boat retreival... regardless of setup...

3549 x 11.1 nominal is 39393.9 rpm Fully charged 3S is 12.6Vdc 3549 x 12.6 = 44717.4 rpm This is SAW rpm You can run, just be careful.
Now 8.4Vdc 2S fully charged, 3549 x 8.4 = 29811.6 ... A nice rpm where you can use a few different props.
You could always get a new motor like a 380 12L 2,408 RPM/Volt 1/8" Shaft.
If I knew your boat was the size it is before you bought your motor, I would have suggested a 380 can.
This is not too expensive: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...hless_Inrunner

I thought the 540 10s had a kv of 3549 ?? On 3s that's only ~35000 rpm under load

Under load... yes... what exactly is your load? A fairly small boat. For the hull size the motor is pretty big. Give it a try but, a plastic prop at that rpm if it comes out of the water will shatter when it re-enters, most likely. Been there on less rpm with Graupner Carbon props...

My rigger is about 21". The reason I picked that big of a motor is because I want it to go as fast as possible, and I like having really over powered stuff it makes it a challenge to drive. I am going to start out with a 31mm plastic prop and if everything runs ok with it I will buy a metal one.

Just installed my running hardware, its from the boat The Widow maker I hope the strut will work. I have my servo mounted and stuffing tube installed, I just need a new flex shaft. I had one but I tried to cut it with side cutters and it started to fray and it came undone. How are you supposed to cut a flex shaft? After I have everything dry fitted I will start the painting process and I hope it comes out nice because I am not the best painter but we'll see.
Thanks, Chris

Chris,
If you would like to test out your rigger on a full size course. A group of electric guys meet in in Sarasota once a month for real racing. Next meet is the 23rd. A very helpful group of guys from novice to very experienced.
All the best,
Ray

Just painted, I still need to clear it. I don't think it came out as nice as I thought but it will look good on the water. The paint really shows where I needed to sand, but its too late for that. I am too excited to see it run so that is why I am going really fast with it.

I finally ran my boat today and I hate plastic props I am never using them again!![:@] I kind of knew it would explode but it was the only prop I had at the moment. I took off really well and got on plain right away and I did two small laps and just before I reached half throttle the prop exploded. I ran and got the fishing pole immediately and casted a few times but I couldn't snag it. Then it started to drift in to some really thick brush along the water on the other side of the pond and I had to crawl through about 20ft of brush to get to my boat. Then when I got to it, it was about 7ft out past shore but the brush was so thick I had to squeeze through it and I used a stick to get my boat unstuck. All in all it was a very bad experience and I hope I never have to do that again. I WILL ONLY USE METAL PROPS FROM THIS POINT ON!!!! They cause way to much trouble. When I get my new prop I will try to shoot a video of a run so I could show you guys.
Thanks, Chris

How fast was the rigger moving when the prop let go? I'm not sure how well those plastic props hold up as I've never used them. I think I have around 25 Octura and Prather Props combined in my prop boxes.

I pulled the trigger like half throttle and it went like 10ft then it popped. i don't think it was going that fast cause it happened right out of the hole. I have heard about 40mph they come apart but I think its less than that.
Thanks, Chris
