The grim racer props need sharpened and balanced. They are drum tumbled so they are a little better than the octuras but they still need worked.

â–*Ultra-clean casting and true center-bore hubs mean that each prop is near its balance point — right out of the package.
â–*Can be fine-tuned with less effort than stainless steel, while holding shape better for balancing, sharpening, and changing pitch.

The auqacraft site does not claim that they are balanced. It states the above. If they were balanced it would say so. And they would likely not have a link for balancing and sharpening instructions.

I'd waiger that what you heard was some people who took them out of the box and ran them and were happy with them.

You can run the CF props w/o balancing. For all out performance and durability you want Cu/Be/Ti or Stainless though.

think is stans for carbon filled. They are essentially plastic but the Carbon is rigid to keep them from flexing like other plastic props. Since they are so light the balancing is not a real factor. I sharpen the tips with sandpaper when I've used them but all and all they are good out of the bag.

you can probably get them many places.
