Don't like the price, buy something else.
Well said buddy!
when the first gen came out I think it was 300bucks then came down to $279.99 for a long time until they discontinued them and it drop to $249.99 for only about a month to get rid of inventory
so if you take $280 - $50 for tower coupon and the new $330 - $60 tower coupon the difference is 40bucks for all the sweet stuff Grim and The RnD guys have done with this new R version
so if people want to complain about the good price, go to Walmart, they have cheap stuff.. [:-]

like my first post said, "no lipo cut off? the hook on the front- if i'm throwing a line at my boat 9 times out of 10 its up side down although cosmetically i like it, the left fin i would probably just take off anyways, the black anodized is sick, 2.4 ghz is pretty much the standard now so they were forced to. If the motor and esc are as reliable as my first gen sv was then they should be sweet, i have blown 2 sv esc's but i was pushing them pretty hard. If i were still new to fe boats this would probably still be the boat i would choose because it still offers great value when compared to the rest of the market. i thrash my sv hard and often and she is still going, there has been some tlc along the way. If i get another boat i think i either want a cat or a larger mono but my real focus is to get into the 1:1 scale so i wouldn't be buying it even if it had lipo cut off and cost 200.

yes everything i said was pretty much based on assumptions, and if they could make the boat for $5 and get people to pay 329 well then that is awesome for them and still good for the consumer cause that is the same price range other boats of this caliber are going for. i can sell a glass door for 495 or more when it cost me 155 to get it and a half hour to install. it's called business. Why would they make and sell a boat if there was no profit involved?
Over all the boat looks sweet, it's set up how a lot of the sport runners like it and it is at a fair price, only actual complaint is no lipo protection.

Its still one of the best values on the market. And it comes from a company that has some of the best customer service.

I've had 3 SV's, the last is still going strong after 2 years of constant use (abuse), the first one was sold to a friend who still runs it and the second one met an untimely end getting run over by a DF 33 and almost sliced in half (the electronics are still in used in another boat of mine).

The SV is the VW Beetle of the FE world. (been around fur a long time, runs great and doesn't cost all that much)

Well yeah it is, I didn't say it wasn't.

I do have some background in manufacturing, and i have also seen what having things outsourced to China costs so I wasn't just making "assumptions".

As far as buying water jackets goes, I've NEVER paid $20 for one, I make my own (on a cheap Chinese lathe and milling machine by the way) or I get them straight from overseas for $7 (and at that, the seller is still making a considerable profit).

The boat is a good deal, probably the best deal in FE boating, but this "update" just looks like a quick easy cash grab to me.

Having said that - I will happily have them grab some more of my cash when the AQ cat comes out...that's for sure.

Now if Grim could drop in with replies to the other poster's questions (particularly asupervee's questions about lipo cutoffs) that would be good.

It can't always be about me you know...

LOL. Now that's the stinger I remember. I'm responsible for a small semiconductor related plant in China and we've had a good record with quality. At the same time Our productivity here in the US is such that it's scarcely worth while to be there. It ends up being a political thing most of the time. Some of our customers wont buy unless it has asian content, particularly Korean. I wish we could still be that way.
