Manly Dam would be great , when i was about 18 i went to Manly Beach to go swimming , though as i was going waiting for the white wash to settle i saw a baby shark just in front of my knees . Needless to say i turned & ran out of the water , as i was more scared of a protective mother shark that may have been nearby . So lucky i am from Broken Hill hey , not many sharks out this way ( LOL )

Is Manly Dam a Salted Dam ??

Manly dam is freshwater.

Real boats are allowed as well as swimmers in certain parts. Its inland an not that close to Manly beach. I've seen people running their FE boats a few times there...... There aren't that many places in Sydney where the water quality is good enough and safe for people to swim.

There is also an rc boat club in Penrith where they meet every 2 weeks. Use of the lake is for members only and not the casual bashers like me.....

Broken Hill is around 1200kms from Sydney & 500kms from Adelaide , it's known as the capitol of th Australian Outback & features in a lot of Ozzy films as you may know including " Mad Max " MM4 will be filmed here in the near future . Would like to run on Manly Dam in the future , i know it a little ...
