Default Center of gravity

Building a 50" fiberglass patrol boat, powered by a 2 cycle homelite watercooled trimmer engine. THE ENGINE, STRUT, RADIO, GAS TANK WITH GAS IS INstalled. The center of gravity is 21.5" measured from the stern. Does this seem correct? The only performance requirement is that it gets up on plane. THX.

That would be about 43% if I figured that correctly. I think that is too far forward. I would try for about 30% to start, which is about 15".You may still have to adjust from there, but at 43% I think the boat will plow. Doug
