Looks dont mean much. A boat thats not trimmed right, running loose will LOOK fast... but its not.

The Rio ran 53mph that day.... big numbers soon [X(]

Actually, its not.
Its really loose and rides with most of the hull out the water. Im planning on doing a little adjustments at the stinger to get it down on the water.

Thanks man! Yes, your does appear to be angled down a bit. If anything I want mine up a little, it's set perfectly flat right now. Take a ruler and hold it to the bottom of your hull and along your strut assembly. That's how I set mine and it rides a little wet even though the trim tabs are angled up slightly.

mauian, how did you set your outer strut assembly? Can you slide your shaft in and out 1/4 inch or so? I'm getting too much wear at the soldered on collar or washer on the shaft. Did you push your inner housing all the way in before you tightened down? I'm a little confused with the slight difference in the Zen vs the Fugi spacing at the drive.

It should bump the stuffing tube then back it off 1/8th of a inch then tighten it. If you flush it it will flare out the tube and that other end the black tube slide on and you'll have a heck of a time removing it. This stock stuff I recommend only for stock and mild modded Zens, not for full mod Zens. The stock cable will not survive the hp and torque, it will snap right where the drive dog stops on the flat area and bye bye prop. I have changed the whole drive system to speedmaster hardware even the rudder due to too many flex cable breakage. I also run hughey cables which are much lighter and more durable. Ill post a pic later if ya want, it looks so much better and runs a whole lot nicer especially when ya can push pass 50 mph in a RIO. Laterz , Dwayne

everything regarding hardware, drive system, rudder all came from cc racing. He has everything for that purpose. I'll post pics of my rio w/the hardware installed tonight my time. I'll do a new thread, dont want to take over this one...lol.

Looks good! I did the same thing and made the hole larger for the Hansen pipe. I cut around so it was "loose" without barely touching the transom, than used RTV to seal it in. Problem I have is the pipe flange leaks! It's not binding anywhere, no "Preload", guess I to find a position it's happy with with water pressure and secure it down from there.
