Default Water fitting leaking!? ***SOLVED***

I am in the process of pinning up my 48" woody so I can run her for the first time this weekend, and as I was testing to make sure I have a sealed water cooling system I found that one of my brass water fittings on the tuned pipe is leaking water trough the threads [:@] As most of you may know this is the first time I have dealt with a water cooled tuned pipe so I have no idea what to use to seal the fitting. I put a touch of blue loc tite on the threads when I installed it but it still leaks. I assume you only snug the fitting in as the aluminum threads a fragile. HELP, I don't know what to do! I was going to put some extra loc tite in and try that, maybe jb weld, RTV, but I want to ask before I do. Any help would be so grateful! -Edmond

I use hi-temp gasket silicone. It seems to work so far. Just be sure to let it cure....that rhymes Cheers.....

Pipe dope. Good to 10,000 psi and 400 degrees C.

Jb welding them in place isn't a bad idea. It doesn't take much just a tiny bead on the threads then tighten it in place and wipe it off clean. If they get loose at all while running it will all in the same run waller out the threads and ruin the pipe. No real reason to need to take one out again although I have been able to get them out to change to a 90 degree fitting and it did come out with the threads still intact in the pipe.

Thanks EVERYONE! Got her fixed up. JB weld worked great, little on the threads. Checked good[sm=thumbup.gif]. You all had great ideas for me and I thank you for that... I know I can count on you guys . -Edmond
